I'm getting married on the 12th September.

I've tried to be really really organised so hopefully it will all run smoothly!

Anyone else want to chat to me about their weddings and hold hands together?

for dp's dad we got him a georgous pocket watch which weretaknig tomorrow to be personalised.

I fetch my rest of my makeup today just need to order the flowers for dp's mum and sisters at some point as well.

LoveMyGirls · 09/09/2009 13:44

Hi,

Well everything that can be done in advance has been done I think.

Decided on pressies so that's sorted. Managed to get a new camara because dd2 broke ours by accident the other day and we wanted to take it on honeymoon opps!

I'm still not quite 100% happy with my shoes but they are the closest I can get so it's tough!

Everything else is out of my control.

Hopefully it will be brilliant!

Umm, can I ask - who do we have to give presents to? I have something for the flowergirls and flowers for the mothers in law, but as yet nothing for the best man and wasn't planning anything for the dads in law... anyone else?

Do let me know asap - the weddings a week on Saturday!

nymphadora · 09/09/2009 16:45

I wasn't planning on presents to everyone do I have to?

fairydust · 09/09/2009 19:25

we have flowers for mil and sil's
an engraved pocket watch for fil
cufflinks for best man
bottle of whisky for my friend who is giving me away.
Toys for the kids but we let them choose there's.

I still need to get some undies which i'll nip and buy tomorrow.

having my nails done tomorrow as well

nymphadora · 09/09/2009 20:12

Was going for flowers for my bf & something for the best man but not everyone. Is that too tight ?

Fraochsmum · 09/09/2009 20:30

nymphadora it's your wedding and you can do whatever the hell you want! There are plenty who will tell you 'what is normally done', but at the end of the day it is you who decides what you want or can afford.
Having organised many weddings for people as a hotel manager, I was routinely shocked at the pernickety wee things brides (and brides mothers in particular) got het up over - completely glossing over the whole purpose of the day is to wed the person you love!
I am getting married for the second time in November, and so far we only have the venue and registrar booked. For us, the most important thing is the marriage and the rest is peripheral.
That said, I can't wait! Hope you all have a lovely day when it comes xx

minko · 09/09/2009 21:00

OK, will get cufflinks for best man.

Oh, my hot tip of the day - the Clinique counter in Boots is doing my wedding make-up on the morning. (It's also next door to the haridresser which is quite handy!) And I'm going for a trial tomorrow morning. And it's all FREE!

nymphadora · 10/09/2009 07:16

This is the second time for me too so it was supposed to be small quiet day with big party at night . Just not quite happening that way!

fairydust · 11/09/2009 07:33

we'll the big day is now tomorrow what we hav'nt got now we go without although i think we've covered everything

LoveMyGirls · 11/09/2009 08:09

minko · 11/09/2009 18:05

Have fun and good luck! Try and sleep well, I don't think I'm going to be sleeping much this time next week...

fairydust · 16/09/2009 16:12

we'll its all over and god reality has hit me hard.

we had the most amazing day ever the shone shone all day there was lots of laughter good tears.

It feels totally weird being married but i'm loving every bit of it.

minko · 16/09/2009 22:09

Aargh? What reality? The reality that it's all over? (the wedding I mean obviously!) I'm a bit worried about the come-down... I lost my job a couple of weeks ago but the wedding excitement has carried me along.

Still, only 3 sleeps to our Big Day... am getting v. nervous!
