I'm getting married on the 12th September.

I've tried to be really really organised so hopefully it will all run smoothly!

Anyone else want to chat to me about their weddings and hold hands together?

jojos4angels · 23/07/2009 17:54

I am getting married on the 29th August.

It was running so smoothly, too smoothly in fact, until sil got envolved!

Oh well i will get it back on track i am sure.

Congrats LMG

LoveMyGirls · 23/07/2009 18:04

What happened with your sil?

Mine is on track I'm just worried I've bittne off a tiny bit more than I can chew!

jojos4angels · 23/07/2009 18:25

Well we opted for a low key affair, so we decided we would just have our 2 DD & 2DS's as bridesmaids and paigeboys.

Then sil kicks off saying she wants her daughter as bridesmaid, i got my girls dresses from next, now we can't get another one in my DN size as the new catalogue is now out and not doing those dresses.

Sil said oh well you will have to get all new ones. .

Other than that its great.

LoveMyGirls · 23/07/2009 18:46

I think just say no unless she wants to cover the cost?

LoveMyGirls · 23/07/2009 18:46

chaosisawayoflife · 24/07/2009 06:15

Me me me!! I'm getting married tomorrow. Aaaarrrghhh! Been up since 4 when dd woke up, she went back down with a cuddle but I've been wide awake and madly tidying since. Want to go and have a shower and get dressed but OH is still in bed and won't thank me for waking him up. I'm really edgy and restless. Panicking about everything I've got to do (although in reality I haven't really got that much to do but my mind is in overdrive!)Aaarrrrghhh!

And breathe.

LoveMyGirls · 24/07/2009 07:15

OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH How exciting!!!!

What have you got to do today chaosis?

What kind of wedding are you having?

OP posts:
chaosisawayoflife · 24/07/2009 07:18

Well, today I've got to meet my dad for breakfast (he's just landed from overseas, haven't seen him for a year), then my bro, his wife and kids are coming down. Me and my sis-in-law are getting a manicure, then we have to take loads of stuff to the venue, dinner with whole family (early as we have kids) get home generally flap around, panic and potter and that's it. I think. Need to vacuum and change bedding and stuff as well before they get here.
The wedding is at a register office and then for the reception we've taken exclusive use of a lovely pub where we're having a bbq and disco for about 100 people. Sooooo excited and nervous at the moment!

LoveMyGirls · 24/07/2009 07:28

That all sounds lovely!!!!!!!!!!

At the moment the day before mine I will be checking the cake is ok, food shopping for the buffet and getting my nails done, then in the evening all my bridesmaids are staying over for a girlie but early night

When did you meet - through friends

How did he propose - he proposed last year on a plane on our way home from romantic weekend away.

The original plan - to have a very buget wedding with the focus being on having it somewhere local so all our family and friends could come and enjoy it without worrying about expensive taxi fares/ hotel rooms but it's all got a bit out of hand as these things do!!

Church/ registry office? - C of E church

Theme/ colours? - blue, choc brown and diamanties

Car? - Bently

Reception? - social club for buffet for between 110-150 people, our friends are putting together a band and another friend will dj (all very talented).

Cake - blue butterflies/ choc brown ribbon with diamanties, 4 butterflies on top representing us and our dd's.

new dress
old: damn it, i knew i had forgot something - old knickers?? Only kidding my dp would not be impressed with his new bride

Need to stop doing this now!

2 more sleeps!!!

LoveMyGirls · 25/07/2009 15:49

Sounds so lovely, you have to try and post pics after!!

When are you going on honeymoon? I'm going the early hours of the mon after the wedding

Floopy21 · 28/07/2009 12:04

Oooo, love this thread! Getting FRICKIN excited / nervous now. T minus 10 days! (8th August). Hope you're all bearing up & ticking off 'to do's' - how lucky we all are to me marrying our loves.

How old? 16 (although we had a 10 year gap!)

How long? 2 years + 3 &1/2 years 10 yrs ago.

Children? None yet

How did you meet? At school. I used to lust after him when his parents dropped him off at the entrance. He broke the ice by asking to borrow 50p, the rest is history! Never did pay me back though...

Proposal? Exactly the same as Lola, after a day at the races (a year ago today!) In fact, just gonna copy her post as it really was identical! Ok so there was a copious amount of alcohol involved but he asked me again the next day when he was sober.
