Husband dislikes my mother of the bride dress choices, am I wrong?

Husband hates the dresses I loved - mob btw! He says the colour is wrong, the shape doesn’t suit. I felt fantastic in them ☹️. Ditching dh isn’t an option. Are they awful or is he being unreasonable?

The blue tshirt you’re wearing with the shorts suits your skin tone really well, I think dusky pinks, blues, like in the tshirt, sagw green, maybe even teal would work really well with your skin and your hair colour, can’t tell what colour your eyes are and if any of those would be a better choice than others .

Muddy pond water 😂. Honestly they change from grey to green to brown - I guess hazel is the closest - no one can work out what colour they are!!!!

I just wanted to tell you that you look really good in those photos. It’s a case of the dress not being as well-cut and fitting as it could be, that’s all… (imo).

I really like the bow in the back btw. Does it have to be navy? Sure, it isn’t black. But still somewhat somber (imo)…

I think teal could work really well. Something vneck or wide necked, elbow length sleeves, a lighter less structured fabric and shaped around the waist.

But this is more like what I normally wear! Obvs not that colour but the shape

OP, when you were trying the dresses on in the shop, was there a wide choice of dresses?

Did the assistant show you any others?

Have you bought one of the dresses shown?

To be polite. The colour is too dark, the dress doesn't fit properly, it's frumpy, and old-fashioned.

Go to a proper dress shop, be it bridal or department store, I suggest. Take your daughter with you if you can

I tend to pick blue! My wardrobe is basically blue and black with a lot of striped t-shirts or plain white

I have no idea what happens when I get dressed for the gym 😂.

I think I need to try other colours on to see what looks ok! I really have no idea 🤷

Very good point re the colour. The rule of thumb I follow is always....white is for brides, black is for funerals. And if youre at mother of the bride stage & age, it may be that bold happy colours do a lot more for you than conservative navy or neutrals.

That and the Liberty dress are the only suggestions which are better than the OP's. There are some horrendous alternatives.
