My main message is don't be fooled by the milder temps and sunshine we have had recently. It looks like winter is returning next week. Certianly blow freezing temps at night for many.
and snow.
yup snow. From the midlands into northern england there looks to be a decent chance of snowand temps cold enough in parts for it perhaps to be a problem. The potential for this starts early next week I'm afraid, with heavy rain showing for many too.

Early for forecasting the Easter weekend itself - but it does not look warm and sunny.

Ripeberry · 26/03/2010 20:10

I want spring, not fair! (stamps foot). Summer better deliver this year, we deserve it!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/03/2010 20:20

it is so utterly rubbish isn't it. I'm emigrating if we don't get summer.

OP posts:
Ripeberry · 26/03/2010 20:28

Too true, would love to move to Canada E.coast and get real summers and stormy/cold winters .
When I was a child I lived in Switzerland and we used to get very hot summers and proper cold. It was great, we even had TRIPLE glazzing in the flat.

pinkteddy · 26/03/2010 20:43

Oh pants we are going to France for the Easter weekend. Is it going to be freezing there as well?! Really hope not.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/03/2010 07:11

I'll try and have a look later pinkteddy

updated advisories

pinkteddy - can you hang on til tomorrow when I can have a proper look, long day today.

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/03/2010 12:59

warnings out for tomorrow

risk has concentrated around Yorks, northern england and southern scotland. Heavy rain, large amounts of snow over high ground and possibly to lower levels as we move through the week. strong winds etc, make for a very unsettled week ahead.

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/03/2010 09:15

updated warnings which come into force tonight. you poor souls - not at all spring like.

milder down south but generally wet and bleugh. possibly some snow potential into central and perhaps even southern areas midweek but I think the chances are fairly low (but still there).

looking unsettled into the Easter weekend.

midnightexpress · 29/03/2010 09:18

A dusting of snow/slush this morning in W of . Scotland . The garden went completely bonkers last week and now it's all going to DIE.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/03/2010 12:21

for you. weather can be so stupid sometimes.

Hello OYBBK, book marking as usual (for the sake of my allotment )

GrimmaTheNome · 29/03/2010 12:38

I was feeling a bit about DH deciding we'd go down to the New Forest for a few days next week, I'd been thinking Lake District. I think I'll admit that it doesn't look so bad down there, it certainly doesn't look like fellwalking weather.

We already got rather caught out yesterday, DH checked the weather but forgot to look at the wind ... not the best day for Pen-y-Ghent, it was rough up there!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/03/2010 12:59

oops Grimma! So you had your cobwebs blown away then

Fellwalking could be somewhat grim unless it rapidly improves. I hope too many don't get caught out.

Gulp, DD is off for a practice D of E expedition on Thursday - what's the forecast looking like for the Peak District for Thu-Sun? Not sure exactly where they'll be though.
