Although cold, snowy weather is still possible, we are a few weeks away from the start of meteorological spring (1st March)
So here are some thoughts from The Weather Outlook on what we might expect.

40kmh winds gusting to 85 (what’s that in miles, about 60?) and torrential rain here this morning (South Wales). All the poor trees with new leaves, all the blossom… 😮

We’re having just about everything thrown at us here (Leicester) this morning ~ we had quite a nice sunrise but in the last 30 minutes, we’ve had rain, hail, thunder and lightning. The ground a few minutes ago looked like we’d had a light covering of snow!

I was out driving during that hail and it came down so thick and fast the wipers at top speed couldn't keep up with it. The roads were covered with ice in seconds.

SW London and we now have sideways rain, the wind is so strong.

The not raining was nice while it lasted.

Rained on and off all night here, quite heavily at times. Sunny and blustery now.

Thunderstorm Watch has been issued by Netweather.

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain ~ DH was out in it as well, taking DD1 to the bus stop and said there was ice and cars all over the place. He said his car's temperature gauge was saying it was 1C at the time.

Thank goodness I pushed through my pain and got the lawns mowed yesterday. I doubt they would have been dry enough to do before Thursdays EA photos.

Bet the bloody sun comes out then to show up every last speck of dust floating around :/ grumps

My car was hit this morning by a four pack of loo roll. I was just pulling out saw it fly towards me, hit the windscreen, bounced over the roof, merrily bouncing and lifting across the car park. Was like watching Beckham doing header tricks 😂😂. Everyone watching in amazement as the owner chased it.

Our hail was at 5.30 am according to the lady on the checkout. Glad I slept through that.

There’s definitely worse things to hit your car windscreen than a 4 pack of loo roll.

Possibility that West Bridgford in Nottingham had a tornado yesterday morning.

Looks like another day of showers before high pressure builds over the next few days towards the weekend and hopefully things can start drying out.

Whoa that's a bad touchdown tornado. I'd be worried about that chimney dropping in. Some good pictures.

Hailstones and gusty winds in SW London right now - not very Springlike!

Have had impressive dark skies and another thunderstorm this afternoon here in Leicester. Unlike yesterday morning where we had a couple of rumbles of thunder, this afternoon we had some really long rumbles, some overhead at times along with some good-size hailstones and then lots of rain. And it's just gone dark again so think we might be in for another cloudburst.

I don't believe it will ever be warm again. It'll be winter coat for work tomorrow again.

Taylormiffed ~ it might not be a heatwave but better weather is coming.

I'm in London for work. It's disappointingly as cold as it is up North!
