It does seem ad infinitum Dusty. I'm wondering how far we will make it through the alphabet!

Rain, wind, cold temperatures, and snow. Really....? Shock

It's WINTER! What do they expect? 🙄

Seriously, I don't understand why cold temperatures, snow, rain, and winds etc make the news in December! 😆As I said, what do they expect?!

Thanks @OhYouBadBadKitten

DS is going to a wedding tomorrow, he's thrown a raincoat into the car. I'm glad he's not driving there tomorrow but this evening.

On the plus side, it may be warmer than today. It was rather chilly on my walk this morning. Though rain and wind may mean I stay in bed a while tomorrow.

You seem confused, its not news, its our national weather forecasting organisation doing its job. One of the many roles of the met office is to warn of potentially impactful weather. Flooding, trees coming down and snow creating hazardous conditions is impactful weather.

I'm in SE and it is so mild it's bizarre. Heating has had to be turned off for the last few days.

North Wesr coast. We're in for 3 days of this. No let up. Really fed up of it now.

Got woken by the wind. Battering bedroom window at the moment.

Wind really picking up here in southwest

Do take care if you are travelling home today.

Worst of the weather will be in Scottish uplands where some will see blizzard conditions and possibly icing of power lines.
South coast of England looks nasty for wind.

May well be starting a new thread for Saturdays storm in the next day or so.

Forecast to rain all day here (Leicester) and looks like another storm for Saturday as well - awful weather as we get to the end of the year Xmas Sad

We had very heavy rain overnight (started at 4pm and was dry by 8am this morning) and strong winds in Cork, south coast Ireland, but rain now stopped and about a Beaufort 1 wind (couple of flags just about moving with the odd gust getting them to half unfurl but not actually fully open).

BiddyPop · 27/12/2023 09:11

Rainfall radar does look like there's more to come later though (probably before lunchtime).

Yesterday was such a nice break from the howling gale, it's back again today though (West Midlands). Even my cat has declined to spend any more time out than he needs to do his business! 😂

I'm very temped to start a thread for what almost certainly will be Storm Henk.

I’m in the NW. I can’t remember a time in my life where it’s been so consistently windy for so long! It’s felt like non stop high winds for the past two weeks. Really strange for this time of year.

I was saying this the other day. A day or two of strong winds here and there, but nothing like the duration we've had over the last week or so. It's non-stop (NW coast here).

Down on the south coast in Cornwall and it's currently Force 7 gusting to 8.

We are up high and getting a hammering from all sides. Definitely need to get the tree on the side garden thinned out asap.
