Given the ongoing flood situation in some parts of Scotland and England, it seems tidiest to create a weather warnings thread, rather than posting many threads! When there are named storms or especially severe weather forecast, I'll try to create individual named storm threads where time allows.

The general autumn weather chat thread is https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weather/4874750-autumn-2023

We currently have warnings for today for parts of Wales and for tomorrow for the Nottinghamshire/ Lincolnshire/South Yorkshire region. The latter will be especially unwelcome, given it will add to water levels already in that area.

As always, please keep an eye on Met Office warnings. Also sign up for Environment agency flood warnings in your area, if you haven't already done so.

Another day, another weather warning. This time for the south, who have escaped relatively unscathed so far. 40-60mm of rain possible in places overnight. Likely to lead to some surface flooding where ground is saturated already.

Been a lovely day in the south, I'm in West Surrey. Rain has just started (4pm).

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/10/2023 20:45

The southern warning now includes Wales.

Very worryingly there's a risk later in the weekend for a lot more rain in the NE.

Another wet day here in Tayside . Thank god for my wellies for dog walking .

Pixiedust1234 · 25/10/2023 16:24

It's been absolutely beautiful here. Clear blue skies, late summer sunshine, low breeze. Even DD has been outside without her oodie and that's a very rare sight indeed. East Midlands.

RampantIvy · 25/10/2023 16:40

Thank you @OhYouBadBadKitten.
I'm in South Yorkshire, and it has been awful. Thankfully I don't live in Catcliffe, but I feel so sorry for the residents there.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/10/2023 08:16

You're welcome Ivy. Yesterday parts of the Isle of Wight saw around 80mm of rain.

Poor old NE Scotland has three days of rain warnings now until Saturday.

We’ve had one of those days where it doesn’t seem to get light at all but thankfully very little rain.
Dread to think how Scotland/South Yorkshire and all the other flooded areas are getting on. Nothing is drying out and they’ll be having more rain on top of it.

Yes, it is still very damp here.

No, i refuse to go over. We are starting to manifest these storms and I will no longer participate in bringing destruction to our shores!!

(It might work... 🤔😬)

Sigh. Another week of getting covered in mud...

Makinglists · 03/11/2023 11:35

Weather warning for tomorrow has been extended further west to include devon and Cornwall- more rain on already sodden ground.

RampantIvy · 03/11/2023 15:54

And on the winter lovers threads posters are saying how much they are enjoying the rain Hmm

Sometimes you just wish for a little karma to happen.

Stay safe everyone.

Newthingsahead · 04/11/2023 12:58

Are we due a dry spell anytime soon?
West Sussex here 🤣
