It is summer isn’t it? Is it?

Rain, wind, cool, feels like October.

First day of my summer holidays and it’s fucking pishing down 🐟
A block party got cancelled today due to the weather. Mid July. Oh joy
But yeah I wouldn’t want Spanish temperatures either. Why is a nice clear pleasant 25’ (with a few showers to keep the farmers happy) for a whole three months so much to ask?

I love it like this but I'm odd.

Makes two of us. NY in summer like one person enjoys would be my idea of hell. Soaring temps and humidity you can dig lumps out of.

Dunno if it's cus I have a bit cold but I keep going hot and cold opening and closing the windows 😶

Had the windows ope but had to shut them because of the wind.

Beautiful in north east Scotland today! Summer dress, park trip and ice cream, followed by bbq dinner outside. Makes a change after days of rain all week. One week into the school holidays here.

millerpie · 16/07/2023 01:31

It’s my fault, I ordered an air conditioning unit and it’s not stopped raining since. I didn’t cope well with the heat last year so wanted to be prepared.

LouLou198 · 16/07/2023 01:53

Windy and rainy here all day today. Had to turn a lamp on at 4pm as couldn't read my book properly! Really hoping to have some better weather when dc break up from school.

It's all my fault for ordering garden chairs for the first time 😶

It’s bloody awful again here 🤬(Gtr Manchester). Rain like stair rods and it’s dark enough that I need the light on to see what I’m doing. So, so sick of not having a couple of months of decent temperatures and sun.

Smoky1107 · 17/07/2023 10:58

It's nice here in Kent today, chilly but the sun is shining. I am in a cardy and slippers though!!

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 17/07/2023 12:22

We Autumn/winter lovers are happy, I've really enjoyed the summer this year so far.

Yes you can have the weather you like for 11 months now. Woo hoo.

I think it was about 3 weeks of heat in June and that’s it. I don’t hold out much hope for August as it tends to get autumnal..

The farmers are actually struggling to get any harvesting done due to all the rain. And I do feel for all the outdoor events/ weddings this month. Nobody wants 40 degrees but mid 20s would be nice.

Yes because then we go straight back in to the depressing cold autumn winter months with zero respite .

I hate the heat but I'd love some sunshine. Its so dull

Yes, it's so overcast today. Like you, i'm usually the one moaning it's too hot, but even I would like a little bit of sunshine.

blobby10 · 21/07/2023 10:24

I had the heater on in the car on the way to work this morning! It was 12 deg and I forgot to pick up a cardigan/jacket cos, you know, its July and I shouldn't need one!

Delatron · 21/07/2023 10:52

No sign of improvement on the long range forecast. Feel irrationally angry at all those who love cool and showery weather. I mean all year?

There’s a local festival this weekend I was going to go to but don’t fancy standing in the rain.

StefanosHill · 21/07/2023 10:53

We still have sunshine but next week looks rainy and grey

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 21/07/2023 11:05

I realised l haven’t worn shirts or crops or short sleeved t shirts for about a month. I bought 2 jackets to wear over short sleeves when l got cold. I’ve worn one once.

@Delatron I know, I'm sick of all the gloating from those people. If I don't get sunlight I'm going to see serious effects on my mental health for months, even until the next summer- as will many others who have SAD- but those people can't help banging on and on about how great it is to be in the cold and grey.

Yes I really suffer from SAD in the Winter months. I’m dreading the weather staying like this and then we’re straight back in to Autumn.

It winds me up so much. We get shit cold weather for a good 6 months and then quite often summer can be crap too. Yet one WEEK of temperatures around 25 and people start to moan. Good job I don’t know anybody like this in real life!

Delatron · 21/07/2023 12:48

Imagine having the weather you like for 11 months of the year. So let’s reverse it - it’s warm and sunny for 11 months. I wouldn’t dream of moaning if it was cold for a few weeks, I’d welcome the change!

madeinmanc · 21/07/2023 13:09

Also they call temperatures under 30 degrees "really hot" or "unbearably hot" 😆They're don't know what "hot" is!

Yeah this ... I get so bored and pissed off with pathetic moaning whingebags moaning that 22 to 23 degrees is really really too hot ... AND they're the same ones who whinge and moan when it drops below 18C and say it's 'too cold' and stick the heating on every time it drops below 18C. THEN they moan about their £400 a month heating bill!

Delatron · 21/07/2023 14:00

Yep! I mean if it’s 30+ then maybe have a little moan but 23 is nothing to whinge about. The minute the temperature hits the mid 20s here (finally) there’s constant posts about how hot it is.

Despite me having a bad time for months through the endless autumn and winter. I don’t come on here and start a post the minute the temperature drops saying ‘ooh it’s too cold I can’t cope’.

I do get ragey when people start talking about snuggling under a blanket on the sofa though… what for 9 months?
