It is summer isn’t it? Is it?

Rain, wind, cool, feels like October.

It's been awful. If someone told me it was actually January and not July I might believe them.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 14/07/2023 10:06

It's bloody awful. We've just had to cancel the school camp out due to bad weather.

morelippy · 14/07/2023 10:24

I keep having to remind myself summer isn't really over and there's still time for some decent warm weather cos this is so miserable.

Toohotforchips · 14/07/2023 11:35

I normally love sunshine, warmth and summer but I'm so grateful for the cool, wet weather at the moment. Watching the unbearable heatwave that southern Europe is experiencing makes me glad for the cooler temperatures.

I know the heat will come at some point this summer, but I hated the 37 degrees we got last year and looked longingly at the places on the weather maps where it was a pleasant 21 degrees!

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 14/07/2023 11:49

14 degrees and pissing down here.

Feels like i fell asleep for a few months and woke in Autumn. 17 here, grey and very wet, rain is forecast for the rest of the day and if BBC is to be believed then for the next week on an off :-(
Probably our fault, we built a new deck to sit and enjoy the sun, the sun decided no.

Pancakeparlour · 14/07/2023 11:58

Whilst I would very much welcome some sunshine right now, I’m happier with these temperatures. If we have even a hint of the heatwave that is currently over in Europe right now I know I won’t cope. I hate both extreme heat or cold weather just can not tolerate either end of the weather spectrum. I especially need it to stay cool for the next few days as I’m having a colonoscopy tomorrow and start the prep soon so my trusty hot water bottle will come in handy, that would not be fun in a heatwave!!

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 14/07/2023 12:01

Personally I'm really hoping the heatwave in Europe lasts till I get out there in august! It can't be hot enough for me.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 14/07/2023 12:05

A couple of our trees are starting to turn 🙄

And we're trying to put the house on the market but half the grass is thigh high; I need a decently dry day to mow and there just hasn't been a chance in weeks. I don't want the house photographed with half an acre of unkempt mess around it. It's a pain.

headcheffer · 14/07/2023 12:12

It's been early 20s here at least for weeks - occasionally 17 or 19. It is summer 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not round me. I don’t think 13/14 degrees,
wind and rain is summery.

Couldn't agree more. I hated the hot weather we had last year, I worry about my dog as our house gets very warm. For now I'm glad of the respite from it. I'm sure it'll be back, but this weather is lessening the risk this summer.

Same here! I had the heat on yesterday 😩 it was so frigging cold! I even said a couple of days ago it feels like Oct/Nov, i.e. wet, windy, cold

Teddybear12345678 · 14/07/2023 12:19

I'm in the south west and hasn't stopped raining about 14 degrees feel like I need a jumper. Next week is the same god help us in the 6 weeks holiday if its like this

Crikeyalmighty · 14/07/2023 12:43

I've just come back yesterday from 39 degrees (ironically a bit too hot) and sun every day. Today I'm wearing a waterproof, leggings and a warm long sleeved top - and people wonder why folks go abroad on holiday. If I had spent £2 to £3k for a week of this I would be well pissed off

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 14/07/2023 12:50

A couple of our trees are starting to turn

A tree in our garden is right opposite my kitchen window and every year from mid July the leaves in the middle start to turn. Can pretty much set the date it happens.

Blondey2023 · 14/07/2023 12:51

It's lovely 😁

ListenLinda · 14/07/2023 12:53

It’s rubbish for July.
Would love days of sunshine and a little bit warmer than it is right now.

omgsally · 14/07/2023 12:55

I'm thrilled. I get actual dread when I see the temperature start rising, so I have everything crossed that it continues like this 😁

While no fan of hot weather (and very glad we're not getting what's happening in Europe) a few more degrees wouldn't come amiss. I had to dig out a cardigan and I'm currently thinking about putting socks on.

Colliewobblerr23 · 14/07/2023 13:02

It's horrendous and our heating clicked on about 30 mins ago. Which means it fell below 17c indoors... it's the wind and rain.

I'm in Cornwall and it feels like October!

Which is probably why I'm feeling really low today. I get SAD very badly!!

Thisisthescene · 14/07/2023 13:05

It's not great is it although pleased for the trees that were so stressed last year. Can it please stop now though ...

Sandsnake · 14/07/2023 13:06

It’s bullshit and it needs to stop. I had some very stern words with Darren Bett yesterday, seemingly to no avail.

It’s going to ruin my weekend plans and - worse - might let the Aussies keep the Ashes if rain next week at Old Trafford forces a draw. I’m incandescent.

hexsnidgett · 14/07/2023 13:14

You're all bonkers! It is summer! warm and apart from the last couple of days very dry.
Where do you live that you think every day june to September ought to be over 20 degrees?
