After the dramatic weather for some over the last few days, mostly covered in the Thunderstorm warning threads, I think it's time to switch to a new thread. After all, we are two weeks into meteorological summer.

Optimistically we turn our eyes towards Spring weather in the hope that we are in the last throes of winter. But March is a capricious month. ... It...

The Beeb weather service seems to have recovered. We are gone from 7°c across the board to a more likely 17-21 for the next week.

Much as I like cold weather, seeing 8 degrees tomorrow was a little scary! What new thing is sweeping in to block the sun to that extent?! It's now 23 degrees

justasking111 · 30/06/2023 20:40

Weather is awful here. Blowing hard with gusts, dark skies from mid afternoon but no rain yet. More like autumn.

Well yeah, have you seen the BBC weather forecast 😂

gingercat02 · 01/07/2023 08:24

We did Newcastle to Aberdeen yesterday afternoon and evening. The weather was vile the whole way 🌧🌧🌧🌧🌫🌬
So much so the sat nav kept going into night mode.

We got a puppy this week house training erratic today he just looks out at the rain and wind and turns tail 🙈

Sympathies 🐶 but how exciting!
My dog won't leave the driveway if it's wet. Wind sends her doolally.

@justasking111 you know if you mention new pets we need photos!!!! Very cool and showery here, hoping it will be drier later today and tomorrow as we're at an outside festival and we know from experience there's little shelter!!!!

Looking forward to the heatwave arriving 🌞

I'd rather this than heatwave

Gorgeous!

Distinct cool down in temps both in land and in water in Dublin yesterday. Definite shift happened in mid-afternoon on land. And water was much brisket this morning than recently (but wind was from NW so Killiney bay was almost flat calm due to Killiney Hill blocking it, despite quite a breeze on land).

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/07/2023 13:15

It is a lovely temperature, slightly marred by the wind which is making bike riding hard work!

Signs are that we may see a warm up next weekend.

I'm enjoying the fresher feel despite a stiff breeze! I'd prefer this to higher temps. Waiting with trepidation for updates on the "heat blast 40°c for 2 weeks" panic in the media 😬 Hoping that won't happen!!

RafaistheKingofClay · 02/07/2023 18:08

Can I have a warm up for tomorrow and then I don’t care about the rest of the week.

This is a much nicer temp than it has been recently. Warm enough but not too hot.

Sunnysunbun · 02/07/2023 23:11

Im hoping for rain this week in London. My garden is crunchy and I’m fed up of having to keep filling up the bird bath twice a day.

TheOnlyMrsW · 03/07/2023 08:34

I'll definitely take a bit of a warm up, barely got past 18 degrees this weekend and with wind felt much colder - not wanted 30 degress but somewhere low 20's would be nice so I don't need a hoodie and jacket to go out!!!! Wet this morning though so far and chilly, DH's car temperature was 11 at 6.30am................

justasking111 · 03/07/2023 08:56

North Wales woke up shivering this morning, westerlies have brought in a band of rain. Just when we have a puppy to walk umpteen times a day 🙈

We are due for some rain, a bit most days, which is what we need.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/07/2023 13:39

It's not looking like much of a warm up. Maybe a bit of a blip upwards this weekend, but then generally reflecting current weather. The more eastwards you are, the more settled it looks. It's looking like a pretty average July at this point.

"Pretty average July "

Sweet music to my ears !

bookworm14 · 03/07/2023 13:46

Thank God for that. No 40 degree days please!

justasking111 · 03/07/2023 14:19

It's good an average July means the plants, 🌲 don't fry.

justasking111 · 03/07/2023 14:21

Wimbledon they've covered the court at record speed just now. I'm impressed
