if you have clear dark skies looking to the north, go outside now! Even reportedlyvisible from some parts of southern England.

Wow, that’s amazing! Where are you?

LoudestRoar · 26/02/2023 23:25

Nothing in Essex, but I'm so happy with OYBBK infectious enthusiasm, I don't care!

HeavenIsAHalfpipe · 26/02/2023 23:26

Just a shot in the dark, but I am guessing @Hebridean is from the Hebrides.

Now back home after standing on a field. Ten minutes ago from the garden - thanks so much again @OhYouBadBadKitten

Fabulous!

sadly nothing here is Berkshire although we have clear skies..

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/02/2023 23:28

@HeavenIsAHalfpipe do you mean the one on the Aurora Watch page? There is a fair bit of pink on there, I'm not sure that is just hopeful viewing, it has been seen as far south as Kent.

North end of Skye. So going strong here but I've had to retreat inside for a while, I'm freezing now.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/02/2023 23:30

I should probably go to bed shouldn't I? But what if it suddenly puts on an amazing display and I've slept through it?

Other way round actually, born elsewhere but fortunate to now live here.

Merrilydancing · 26/02/2023 23:34

Aww I missed them merrily dancing tonight!

OnTheRunWithMannyMontana · 26/02/2023 23:35

West Yorkshire. Can see a glow that isn't usually there but nothing exciting. Too many clouds.

JennyWreny · 26/02/2023 23:38

Another alert if people are still looking

Glad I asked then 😁.
Beautiful place to live and lucky you to see the lights this evening, albeit freezing in the process!

longtompot · 26/02/2023 23:41

If you are on Facebook have a look at the Glenelg-Skye ferry page as someone has posted the most amazing photos looking across the water to Skye. I am too far south in Wilts and am a bit too low down so won't see a thing, but shall just check whilst letting the dog out for her wees. Posting a link though not sure if it will work

Yeah that's the one. Doesn't look like aurora. (to me anyway.) Loads of peoples pics do, but a few don't,

Plenty of great aurora pics on here and some on twitter and facebook, but some pics are just the moonlit sky. I think it's people wanting to see it/hoping they have seen it.

moon's in the other direction though? definitely not just a moonlit sky, I'm used to those.

That's what I am worried about. 😆 I need to go beddybyes. I have to be up at 7!

I know the moon is 'the other way' but people could still be pointing the camera towards the sliver of clouds under it that when they're lit up, look a wee bit aurora-ish. (But they are not aurora.) JMO, but some pics are not the aurora.

There is no guarantee the pics some people are posting are facing north.

As I say, most pics are aurora for sure but some aren't. (IMO.)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/02/2023 23:45

I'm not sure what that is user!
