if you have clear dark skies looking to the north, go outside now! Even reportedlyvisible from some parts of southern England.

This clever photographer (at Glastomichelle) posted on twitter her aurora shots from the top of Glastonbury Tor! Where we are in deepest Somerset... That's pretty extraordinary, right?

I was looking at the clear sky but couldn't see anything with my naked eyes. Thanks for the thread @OhYouBadBadKitten <3

Because threads older than 30 days don't appear in active any more I'm going to be massively cheeky and plonk a link to our long running winter weather thread in here.

I rather like this Aurora picture here.

Having gone through social media, it seems that there was a brief burst just before 9pm. I'm not sure whether there were any further bursts later on. It seems that the main show was Sunday night.

It might be worth casting your eyes over the sky this evening, but I think chances are probably much lower. (in typing that, probably find it turns out to be amazing!)

Ours appeared around 9pm last night and were pretty constant until when I went to bed at 1ish. It was cloudy so nothing like the night before, but the green smudge above the mountains still looked lovely.

From Mont St Michel! Wow!

That sounds lovely Dora You'll have to open an MN aurora tours company. Grin

I'm a numpty and misremembered the situation. Sorry! Its trending that it is blocked from, not active. Users can choose not to see threads older than 30 days. The trending thing is what annoyed me, but I forgot that. Blush

More lovely pictures here.

Pixiedust1234 · 28/02/2023 19:45

I'm not seeing that thread in active either so thank you for your weather link, and for this thread 💕

UsingChangeofName · 28/02/2023 19:49

Thanks for the thread @OhYouBadBadKitten and for the links to so many beautiful images @GloriaSmud

Windy1234 · 28/02/2023 20:05

Is this worth keeping an eye out?

Aurora Alert now!
Windy1234 · 28/02/2023 20:08

Nevermind it's back to green 🙈😂 this is a learning curve

GloriaSmud · 28/02/2023 20:40

You're welcome, UsingChangeofName
I think there's a very faint green glow at times over Mount Hekla in Iceland. (Can just about be seen if I stand back from the computer screen with the lights off, it's that faint!)

GloriaSmud · 28/02/2023 20:53

And showing here in another Icelandic webcam.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/02/2023 21:42

It's back up again to amber again @Windy1234 so in Scotland yes, if skies are clear.

DoratheAurora · 28/02/2023 21:53

Visible for us again tonight, but it's cloudy so just a slightly fuzzy green band.

Windy1234 · 28/02/2023 22:02

Thank you, it's just as cloudy as last night so not going to bother going out for a drive. But downloaded the Aurora watch uk app so hopefully be more prepared in future 🥰

GloriaSmud · 28/02/2023 20:53

That was a strange web cam! It looked like freezing sleet and a ferocious wind was wobbling it quite strongly!

GloriaSmud · 01/03/2023 06:41

PearCrumbleCustard - I think it was being affected by the weather a bit, when I looked last night!

Ewk · 24/03/2023 01:37

Managed to catch it tonight, my photos are rubbish as wasn't sure on settings but was lovely to see!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/03/2023 19:46

Well done Ewk. It looked like it was a spectacular night.
Unfortunately I got an early night and missed it all.

Merrilydancing · 24/03/2023 21:11

Last night was simply stunning, nearly missed them!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/03/2023 22:44

It bodes well for the peak of this cycle with such stunning displays already.
