Snow watch Winter 2019/20

First proper potential for the winter on Friday - if you live in the Peak district and parts of Scotland.

Just rain here although it’s possible it might turn a bit sleety.

Wet snow here in Herts/Essex borders but too wet on the ground to stick. First snow sighting this year though.

Dusting of snow in the Manchester Suburbs - on the border of East Manchester and Tameside.

A few flakes falling - there are a few people at work who live in Glossop - I reckon they may not make it in.

Snowing in North Essex now but not much.

Steady snow in mid Herts. Coating on grass and patio chairs but roads & pavement are very wet. Slushy!

Predictably not one flake in Trafford. Manchester Snow Shield™️ seems to be holding here despite Met Office saying 90% chance of heavy snow. Sunny here🙁

Thick and fast in North Herts, it was slushy but has turned to proper snow now. My (rather long) grass and rooftops are white, path is covered but roads look clear.

Cambridgeshire, no snow here. Fummin

Yes just rain here despite multiple forecasts saying 100% chance of snow. I know it’s hard to predict. My phone app is insisting it is snowing now but it’s just raining. S.Bucks

Sort of snowing here in East Surrey - it sort of switches between rain and flakes every few minutes. So wet there is no chance of it settling.

Rain/sleet in North Essex. Cold as well, I had a miserable walk with the dog before work this morning!

Snow in Beds. Started obediently at rush hour.

Not early enough to close schools and is very wet snow anyway.

Snowing in South London/Kent. Big clumped flakes but melting as soon as it hits any surface.

It was snowing quite heavily in the City this morning but it has stopped now and not settled.

Waves to @TommyandGina We've been sledging on the Heath this morning. First time DD has seen the snow. Sun is out now so I expect it not to stay around for post school fun.

I'm jealous! I managed to miss the 30s of snow we had.

DS woke me up at 0551 Saturday morning to ‘come and see the snow!’ Gutted it was just petals. OYBK what does that mean?

petals -awww, that's sweet!
It means that at the moment one of the models is predicting a fairly reasonable chance of snow for quite a lot of people next weekend.

It’s going to get chilly

We just had a brief snow fall this morning in NW London. It started off very bright and sunny and gusty winds. Suddenly went dark and winds picked before the snow fell. It's now sleety rain with brighter sky in the distance. Daughter went out and danced in it

Of course it is going to snow, I just planted potatoes.
