:)

First proper potential for the winter on Friday - if you live in the Peak district and parts of Scotland. Grin

Our local forecast has 1 snowflake for 6am, next Tuesday. I'm contemplating setting my alarm, just in case that's all we get. 🌨️

GloriaSmud · 23/01/2020 11:23

I would do, Justmuddlingalong, it might be your only chance of seeing snow this winter Grin

Actually overnight Monday/into Tuesday, some of the higher areas of the country, especially in northern England/Scotland, could well see some wintry stuff. There might be something wintry at lower levels in those areas as well but think it'll be mostly rain for southern areas.

hoochymamgu · 24/01/2020 14:32

Oooo Grin

TokyoSushi · 24/01/2020 22:36

BBC weather has just said that we could see snow overnight on Sunday, could we?! 😬

Justmuddlingalong · 24/01/2020 23:03

The solitary snowflake which promised great things has disappeared. I'm too old to stamp my foot, but I'm stamping it anyway. 😤

GloriaSmud · 25/01/2020 07:30

hoochymamgu - Grin

Scotland/northern England could well see something wintry Sunday night/early Monday. For the south, there might be a hint of wintriness over high ground but otherwise, anything falling will be rain.

This winter sucks bigtime!

WTFdidwedo · 25/01/2020 21:04

We have some forecast here Tuesday, in South Wales, we're about 500m up.

hoochymamgu · 26/01/2020 14:17

One more reason to live in Wales, WTF Smile
But just a few flakes would be lovely, not enough to actually stop us going anywhere mind ...

Perihelion · 26/01/2020 19:19

I've seen snow falling today Grin...
It was on the A9 at Drumochter, which is about 460m asl. Really very little snow on the hills though

Perihelion · 27/01/2020 21:04

Trying not to get excited, it's 1C and we've got a yellow warning covering Edinburgh for snow and ice.

Justmuddlingalong · 27/01/2020 21:20

Looking at the weather warning area and it's Sod's bloody law. Guess where the Muddling household is. 😠

The snow is on here now. Central Belt near Falkirk.

TokyoSushi · 27/01/2020 22:57

Ooh you lucky lot - enjoy!

Perihelion · 27/01/2020 23:00

Justmuddling if it makes you feel better I'm only managing sleety rain in Edinburgh. Sad

Srictlybakeoff · 27/01/2020 23:46

Snowing and lying just outside Glasgow Grin

GloriaSmud · 28/01/2020 07:55

Oh Justmuddling Sad
Snowy scenes at Braemar.

The GFS for mid-next week is looking 'interesting' - as in 'Winter 2019/20 might be about to get started', kind of 'interesting.'

beenrumbled · 28/01/2020 09:21

drum roll......snowing in MANCHESTER!!

It wont last or lie but its the first snow of the winter. Grin

GloriaSmud · 28/01/2020 09:33

Blimey beenrumbled - the Manchester snow shield must have failed!

beenrumbled · 28/01/2020 09:34

finkploydthethird · 28/01/2020 17:54

I didn't know it could do anything other than rain in Manchester....

Titsywoo · 29/01/2020 08:02

Its not fair! I want snow!

Perihelion · 29/01/2020 17:53

It's not snowing in Edinburgh....it's floodingShock
Of course no weather warning, it's Scotland. Must be carnage in the rush hour.

MarthasGinYard · 08/02/2020 16:50

Picking up here

North Staffs moors

Belindabelle · 09/02/2020 20:20

Looks like Scotland and North of England could be getting snow tomorrow!

BiddyPop · 10/02/2020 10:34

The car thermometer read 4.5 degrees 10 minutes ago, but there is a significant wind chill out there so it feels bitterly cold and well below zero. (Dublin, on seafront). Still quite a strong breeze (I grew up on Atlantic coast ) - the Dublin Bay buoys currently seeing wind 29knots gusting 46 knots, force 7 (near gale). And heavy, relatively low and mid grey cloud. So I really wouldn’t be surprised if there is snow here. Have packed an extra jumper in addition to the normal spare socks and pants in case I do have to stay an extra day on my trip (due home tomorrow night).
