As Snow watch part 5 is almost full, there's a few days of milder weather forecast and we're coming up to Easter, thought now would be a good time to start a new thread.

There are signs that winter might not be finished with us yet.

The run up to Easter could be wintry…

I’m currently in Farnborough. It’s bucketing down. I get the distinct feeling that even if it were to snow, it wouldn’t lay, everything is just so sodden. Much to my dismay, I was so excited at the prospect of a snow covered Easter.

RustyBear · 29/03/2018 16:41

Not far from you Chipping - we’ve got lightning here!

hoochymama1 · 29/03/2018 16:42

Well, well. Heavy snow forecast here for mon/tues (Derbyshire) just took hoochydog out for a walk and it was bloomin' freezing. She couldn't wait to get back in. Feel so sorry for people in caravans/camping.

hoochymama1 · 29/03/2018 16:45

Worse still, just put all my winter dresses away and have my summer dresses in the wardrobe Blush

GloriaSmud · 29/03/2018 18:02

(Still signing in from a static caravan just outside York)
I saw that weather front moving in from the SW yesterday and wondered what the metoffice would make of it! They think Leicester will have snow for most of Monday but I don't think it's a certainty yet.

Magi ~ can't see any sign of a heatwave coming. After Monday, daytime temperatures recover a bit but still chilly at night for the south. The north/Scotland could still be in for more snow though Shock

Came on here hoping people would say “it’s not going to snow on Monday”. I am travelling to North Wales early Monday, we have a holiday booked, it’s taken a lot of planning due to the dc’s having ASD (everything has to be planned), luckily I hadn’t booked tickets for the train at Snowdon. Do you think I’m going to be able to travel? Is this snow going to actually happen?

GloriaSmud · 29/03/2018 20:48

Lovemusic ~ I wouldn't say your journey isn't going to happen but I'd allow extra time if you're leaving that early. From experience, the Welsh are pretty good at keeping roads open in snowy weather so you should be OK. The rest of the week might be an idea to keep an eye on the forecast as it's looking rather wintry for the Llanberis area, especially towards the end of next week.

Thank you Gloria I don’t mind if we have snow once we are there, it will be pretty and as you say ‘the welsh are better at keeping the roads clear’. I am considering travelling up Sunday night if I can find a hotel room somewhere, at least them we are up there before it snows? It looks like more snow is forecast for the Thursday, we travel back Friday.

GloriaSmud · 29/03/2018 21:11

Travelling Sunday night might be a good idea, at least then there's less of the 'will we make it' thoughts that you might have if you did the journey on Monday!

Peak area for snow on Monday look to be west midlands and east Wales. Further south is too warm.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/03/2018 22:31

No sign of a heatwave. even in 10 days time we will be looking at widespread frosts.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/03/2018 12:12

Shock Derek Brockway thinks it will get warm mid April.

Lovemusic33 · 30/03/2018 12:52

I hope we get a nice long hot summer after this horrid winter, we deserve it.

I’m checking forcasts several times a day in hope they change the forecast for snow in Wales.

Delatron · 30/03/2018 15:37

Ooh my Facebook weatherman says warm 10th April!

BestIsWest · 30/03/2018 16:09

I love Derek The Weatherman. Hope he’s right about the heatwave even if he was gobsmacked that Swansea had no snow when Cardiff was like Siberia.

NoWayNoHow · 30/03/2018 16:17

On horrificly long drive to Devon - temperature has plummeted and there are big chunky snowflakes in with the rain!!

fredabear · 30/03/2018 16:22

Oh FFS meant to be driving from NE to Worcestershire on Monday and the whole journey (250 miles) looks to be heavy snow

NoWayNoHow · 30/03/2018 16:47

It's settling!!

icantdothis2017 · 30/03/2018 17:04

No way :O
Where abouts is this ?

NoWayNoHow · 30/03/2018 18:04

North Devon. Weird little confined patch of weather though - came out the other side of it and the temp went up 4°C and rain set in again. So odd!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/03/2018 18:05

No way!!! That's crackers!!

icantdothis2017 · 30/03/2018 18:05

How strange.
I see weather warning for the sw for rain atm

NoWayNoHow · 30/03/2018 18:22

icant as did we! I kept telling DH that the radar says it's only supposed to be rain, he just kept pointing out the window!

To be fair, everywhere else we drove through was just dumping it down with rain. Just that strange area (near Tiverton).

dementedma · 30/03/2018 18:30

cold, wet and miserable here in Central Scotland, with lumpy rain

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 30/03/2018 18:34

Clear blue skies and sunshine here but an extreme cold weather warning in effect. -40 with the wind chill. I’d like Spring now please.
