You're very welcome Perhaps :) It's good to have been able to help a bit.

A huge thanks to OYBBK and Gloria Flowers
For a bit of light relief, I give you the fox motorway!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/03/2018 23:18

You're really welcome. :)

I don't think the fox highway posted. A few people's photos or links seem not to be showing so I think there might be an mn issue.

Actually OYBBK and Gloria you have fame in our village, even ex-h asked me yesterday, after being a bit boggled about why we were all on a two day snow say for school 'but what do your weather people say about it?'. And he doesn't listen to my many people's opinions Grin. If it wasn't for you two I'd be buggered because I'm disabled so organising well in advance of events like this is really important, I had a Tesco equivalent of the Oh Fuck Ruck Sack delivered early this week and have extra meds in just in case. No harm if you'd been wrong but a massive help to prep well in advance in the event that you were right. Which you were.

Bullet991 · 02/03/2018 23:39

I’m on the north east of Scotland and due back at work an hour away tomorrow - do you think it will have cleared?

SilverHawk · 02/03/2018 23:41

The photo was of lots of fox tracks on the snow, just before the rain started. I will try again tomorrow as I'm having problems syncing anything atm.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/03/2018 23:41

Blush MrSlant.

Bullet you are likely to have light snow showers over night.

Saying hello

HelenaDove · 03/03/2018 02:14

Gloria + Kitten thankyou for the time and effort you put into these threads. Thanks Thanks

It looks like here in North Essex its 8c on Sunday

3c for Saturday and yellow warning for ice until 11am.

DartmoorDoughnut · 03/03/2018 06:42

@MrSlant thank you for that info (and the tag!) he’s pretty central in Newport but the fact that the M4 is dodgy too makes me more determined to make him stay put, god knows what the A roads will be like! Wish me luck persuading him though!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/03/2018 07:22

Morning all :) Not sure why I'm awake Hmm I'm having to type carefully so I don't wake dh.
Whywont and Helena you are very welcome :)

Another one adding to the thanks to OYBBK and Gloria Thanks

Your information helped me plan and also understand how long it will likely last. These are especially important in my house as ds has asd!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/03/2018 07:33

snow and ice warnings

Latest radar snapshot and mid afternoon gfs forecast. Note the rain. We start to warm up from he south upwards, reaching all areas by the end of tomorrow. However, never especially warm in northern England or Scotland so here snow may take some time to shift.

Given the rapid warmup surface flooding is likely. There are also coastal flood warnings. here

Does anyone know what the roads are like in London this morning? Trying to decide whether to attempt to get to Alexandra Palace - would be coming into London on the M40.

hoochymama1 · 03/03/2018 07:43

Another fall of snow overnight here in N Derbyshire, but I think it will warm up later on Grin

magimedi · 03/03/2018 07:49

3 miles inland from Eastbourne.

'Only' dropped to +0.5C last night & is now a tropical 1.8C.

Very misty & what little snow we had is nearly all melted.

Must think about looking out my summer clothes Grin

GloriaSmud · 03/03/2018 07:50

Morning all,

Not been out yet but think we've had 6-8cms here (Leicester), slightly more than the 3-5cms forecast on the local news yesterday.

whatalifethisis ~ hope your DP made it home OK last night.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 03/03/2018 07:50

All the snow has gone in this bit of Devon, at least. 5 degrees at the moment.

Now it's just going to rain foreverfor the next week.

GloriaSmud · 03/03/2018 07:56

magimedi ~ 1.8C eh? That's a heatwave! I'd keep a cardi/wrap/scarf by for those chilly nights though as the metoffice Outlook says:

Sunday:
Snow showers in northern and eastern parts of Scotland. Outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow at times elsewhere across the UK. Thaw of some ice and snow during the day.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
Cold in the far north with snow showers, mainly northeast. Less cold in the south, with a mixture of rain, sleet and snow on hills. Mist and fog in places.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Wednesday 7 Mar 2018 to Friday 16 Mar 2018:
Further rain, sleet and snow are expected at times on Wednesday and Thursday. Northern parts are likely to see the snow, whereas rain is more likely further south. It will remain cold in the north with brisk winds. In the south, it will be less cold and less windy, but night time cloud, mist and fog are likely, which may be slow to clear during the day. Over next weekend and into the following week, it is likely to stay cold in the north, but temperatures may return nearer to normal in the south. Rain and strong winds are likely in many parts of the UK and further snow is possible across central and northern parts.

UK Outlook for Friday 16 Mar 2018 to Friday 30 Mar 2018:
The predominately easterly wind may to persist for a while across the north with colder than average weather here, but it will probably be a little milder at times in the south and southwest of the UK. There will continue to be a risk of snow across some central and northern areas. Night frost and ice will continue to occur at times. It may turn more unsettled and milder as westerly or southwesterly winds return with wetter conditions in the northwest and drier conditions in the southeast. The timing of any more Spring-like weather remains uncertain.
