Love that pic cismy!

We had a bit more snow here in Somerset this afternoon but not much.

DH has changed flight plans and is now flying into Heathrow about lunchtime tomorrow. He is now in a bar at an airport hotel in Vienna. His colleagues all departed for places like Moscow and Warsaw and Prague. No issues with their flights!

I’m about to have a Wine, put the fire on and settle down with my book. Didn’t get much done today so have lots to do tomorrow.

OYBBK and Gloria - Gin and Wine to you both!

Notmyideamovingon · 02/03/2018 18:27

So south west surrey and met office reckon will get warmer overnight heady heights of 2c by morning.I'm glad the kids got plenty of sledging in today!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/03/2018 18:28

Wine sounds lovely!

I did sound a bit melodramatic Albus, I'd seen on the bbc about Waterloo being shut and had visions of everyone being stuck overnight.

still snowing sporadically here in Scotland. snow very deep and bitterly cold wind

notsomanky · 02/03/2018 18:32

No more snow here at all.

What there is is compacting to ice or being worn away/blown away in the high winds.

Very cold and grey but not as cold as yesterday.

Really coming down here (Leicester) and got about 1-2cms.
DD2's Rangers has been cancelled, no one has to go anywhere so I'm about to open Wine

AndhowcouldIeverrefuse · 02/03/2018 18:42

OYBBK and Gloria can you help with this? I am on the North Wales coast. According to the BBC and the rain radar it has been snowing since 2pm and is snowing now - and yet it's dry as a bone! No snow or rain since last night and yet looking at the maps we seem to be in the middle of the latest snow band.

I am so confused Confused

MongerTruffle · 02/03/2018 18:44

I honestly wish we could have 'proper' snow at least once a decade. I live in Peterborough (a glass dome). This year we've had no more than 3 cm at any one time.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/03/2018 18:47

Andhow it may well be evaporating before reaching the ground.

A new thread already.

If anyones interested its still lightly snowing in Staffordshire, at least the bit I can see anyway.

JillJ72 · 02/03/2018 18:51

North Bucks - started with a bit of freezing rain at ca 1445h, sounded like tinkly shards of glass. 1500h big fat flakes of snow. At 1750h was -3 on the shed (better than yesterday's daytime -6), and we have at least 5cm on top of yesterday's snow - it's still going strong. The wind has quietened down a bit, hurrah.

randomuntrainedcuntowner · 02/03/2018 18:51

My dp was meant to be flying from France today - flight cancelled, which I am glad about in a way as not sure he would have made it back to here from the airport, might have ended up getting stranded somewhere.

whyhastherumgone · 02/03/2018 18:52

I've got a glass of wine and am watching various weather radars as well as flightradar. I don't know what's become of me...

I've become strangely addicted.

Huge thanks to Gloria and Kitten you have been marvels this week. Hope you've both got a large glass of wine in hand!

AndhowcouldIeverrefuse · 02/03/2018 18:57

Thanks OYBBK

I want a bit more snow!

gttia · 02/03/2018 18:57

Dh went to a station a fair drive away, I went for him and he was on one of the last trains it looks like from national rail app. We are stocked up with beer, wine and nice food (supermarket next to train station) and my teenagers did some shopping for our elderly neighbours x

BuzzKillington · 02/03/2018 19:03

We have lots of snow here in Herts.

It took me 1.5 hours to travel 15 miles home - I think I just made it before the traffic got really bad.

The dog keeps going out and coming in with a comedy walk - he can't deal with snowy feet!

IWantMyHatBack · 02/03/2018 19:08

Few more inches of snow in West Ox, at least it's stopped drifting now though and I can clear the drive.
Hopefully that's it for now

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/03/2018 19:17

At the risk of falsely alarming more people, Bbc have announced Charing Cross station has just closed.

My DF is meant to be driving tomorrow from Newport Pembrokeshire to Cardiff, I think he should wait til Sunday but he’s very stubborn! Opinions/help me convince him please!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/03/2018 19:40

Even if no more snow falls, unless he has a route that has definitely been fully cleared from end to end he should cancel. Maybe googling some local news might help convince him?

SnowiestMountain · 02/03/2018 19:42

Warning up ever so slightly in Cheshire, a balmy 2 degrees, still very cold wind though!

SnowiestMountain · 02/03/2018 19:42

**warming 🙄

PrincessHairyMclary · 02/03/2018 19:43

Snow is already falling again in Norfolk. Footprints and tyre marks already covered up. Glad I'm not in the villages some are completely blocked off.

FuzzyCustard · 02/03/2018 19:52

To cheer (and warm) myself up, I am imagining the hot weather and the empty water butts and the French doors open......

I am also VERY grateful I no longer have to do the SE trains Kent to London commute. Good luck to anyone on a train tonight.
