@ScarlettDarling yep. That thunder clap and lightning made me check my house wasn't galling down. Majorly pissed off as all other schools in the area closed due to adverse weather and awful forecast. Our school chose to tell us it was closed at 8.45 this morning. Head is an arse. I'd already decided me and my DD weren't risking it thanks, arsey Head!

Jenasaurus · 28/02/2018 18:38

:) I am a little dissappointed, no snow but still freezing

FuzzyCustard · 28/02/2018 18:40

I'm off to the new thread now so I can get there before it fills up!

imelda3 · 28/02/2018 18:44

MorvahRising · 28/02/2018 18:46

Before you hop over to the new thread, OhYouBadBadKitten, we just wanted to let you know that we've had a lovely mail this afternoon saying:

"Hello, Is there a way of saying thank you to OhYouBadBadKitten for everything she is doing on this thread? She is helping so many people!"

We won't name the poster (in case she wants to remain incognito!) but we thought we'd stop by and say a huge thanks on behalf of all of us - this has been a brilliant thread. Smile

Awwww that's lovely Dawn, thank you so much to that kind person!!

Dh is driving at the moment, so I'm on my phone looking at a bit of another surprise snow shower while hoping we don't crash Grin

Back now, Mum's boyf had to abandon his car and walk a couple of miles back to the village and he was frozen. I'm just getting warm after walking back so I'm going to have a hot bath and a glass or two. 🍷🍷

PortiaCastis · 28/02/2018 19:00

Sorry wrong thread Grin

Notmyideamovingon · 28/02/2018 19:01

Thank you oybbk, checks to you I had a go at explaining lake effect snow tip kings this afternoon,I think they got it ;)

PearlyG8 · 28/02/2018 19:01

Just catching up with thread and saw very kind enquiry from Gertrude about our journey to Falmouth.

I decided it would be too much of a risk so we are hunkering down in quite-snowy-enough-thankyou Brighton. It was very much OYBBK's advice looking at both ends and hearing about accidents including fatalities elsewhere. So glad 85yo Dad cancelled his plan to (attemot to) go London to Falmouth by train tomorrow too.

Heading back to p35 :)

whyhastherumgone · 28/02/2018 19:02

well met office is saying no more snow for me apart from a few light showers over night - yet I have snow right now. BBC seems to be more accurate for us at the moment but it's forecasting heavy snow in Essex for tomorrow - I'm in Stanford but heading to Chelmsford tomorrow which is apparently heavy snow on and off all day according to BBC but none according to Met Office? Who to believe!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/02/2018 19:11

errrmmm, hi again!!!

my evening got cancelled! Grin bit of a shame, but it was a bit wild out there and all the drivers were clearly in a bit of a panic,

I'm going to head over to the new thread I think mostly.
It seems that the met office (and me!) missed this new invigorated band of snow showers. That's the nature of snow, it just peps up out of nowhere in these conditions.

Caroian · 28/02/2018 19:14

BBC and Met Office are partially agreeing for us for the first time in a while - both say we'll have snow again tomorrow, but the Met Office has it lasting longer. Thing is, we're in W Kent - aren't we too far East to expect more tomorrow?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/02/2018 19:19

There's a fair bit showing in the SE now.

Nothing here kitten but on another site I'm on people are getting a nice top up, lucky sticks. Oh well, isn't over till it's over, I am hoping the snow is east enough for us to get some Thursday/Friday.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/02/2018 21:43

we've moved onto the new thread :)
