Thank you OYBBK. are we likely to be in for any more or is it just waiting for this lot to melt now?

PointlessUsername · 28/02/2018 13:59

Thank you for your reply OYBBK.

You and Gloria are great Flowers

Cookiesandwine · 28/02/2018 14:00

OYBBK - any word on merseyside? We so rarely get any snow!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/02/2018 14:03

You may get more tomorrow Stare :)

You're welcome everyone!

Just found a pretty good free radar site here you can see what's heading your way, but remember that snow can fizzle out and pep up seemingly out of nowhere.

Schilke, I've had some, I think I'll get a reasonable amount tomorrow.

stubborn never seen snow like it! Blimey!! Hope everyone is safe and cosy now. And now the winds are getting stronger.

Who was it driving down from Brighton to Falmouth today? Please please be careful and listen to local radio stations. Cornwall police have advised only essential journeys should be made due to the thick blizzard like conditions. Falmouth had thundersnow.

So many people ignored the weather warnings as snow here is so rare. The snow is thick and powdery. And very very slippery when compacted down.

OYBBK and Gloria thank you so much, it's brilliant to have this thread especially when the forecasts are so different. Snow Halos both of you.

Two questions:

Is the snow in the southwest tomorrow/Friday patchy? As in one town might get some, the next not a flake?
If snow does fall, will it be any better for snowmen/sledging than the weird dry powdery stuff?

We're near Bristol if that helps?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/02/2018 14:12

no it's not patchy tomorrow Bat. It's going to be persistent, heavy and blizzard like conditions by tomorrow mid afternoon or so. You'll find your snow in piles! Still pretty dry snow I think.

Piles of snow! Blizzards! That will be strange for the mild, mild west 😀. Thank you, kitten.

achtungladybird · 28/02/2018 14:18

Any thoughts on the east side of Oxfordshire? We seem to be on the edge of stuff happening.....

Oddgirlout · 28/02/2018 14:19

Me and hubby are amazed at your meteorological powers! Thank you for everything so far! He is a deputy head, looking at school openings, how does maidstone-tonbridge look?

BrieAndChilli · 28/02/2018 14:21

I’m in south east wales (chepstow) we dont have anything at the moment! Are we likely to??

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/02/2018 14:25

please don't be amazed, this is all very amateurish and I can guarantee I'll be wrong for some people, partly due to forecast changing and partly due to me making errors.

Oxfordshire - I think you'll get some light to moderate snow tomorrow.

Maidstone - at the moment I don't think it looks too bad tomorrow. Just icy and an awful windchill.

Now I've been keeping an eye on things for South Hampshire but opinion is divided as to whether it's going to be worse tomorrow or on Friday or not at all.
We've already had non collection of bins and a school closing early (words have been had!) despite neither snow nor ice!

Any news on Pembrokeshire? My little grandson has been taken to hospital in Cardiff but home is in Haverfordwest. I'm worrying about the to-ing and fro-ing Sad

As always thanks to OYBBK and Gloria x

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/02/2018 14:34

Pembrokeshire looks like heavy snow through from tomorrow afternoon on through the night I'm afraid.

It's chaos here. We are on the Fife coastal toad and vehicles keep getting stuck.

Summer70 · 28/02/2018 14:40

OYBBK. Thanks so much. In Hampshire, new forest border. Do you think we will get a good dump (fingers crossed) tomorrow & Friday or are we on the edge of it? Thanks in advance.

FreddieBoswellsHair · 28/02/2018 14:41

OYBBK can I second Cookiesandwine in asking for any info on Merseyside?
Kids would love to see snow here and it looks like we will miss out at the moment.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/02/2018 14:41

I think you will get a decent amount summer.

OP posts:
Quickchange1 · 28/02/2018 14:42

We've had non stop blizzards in the Peak district that have caused chaos all day. Seems to have stopped now. Is that it for us do you think? forecasts all different?

icantdothis2017 · 28/02/2018 14:42

West Sussex for tomorrow ???

achtungladybird · 28/02/2018 14:45

Thanks. 3 schools to keep an eye on, will be interesting.

summersgoneaway · 28/02/2018 14:53

😝❄️❄️ never get any here

summersgoneaway · 28/02/2018 14:53

Very windy

BestIsWest · 28/02/2018 14:57

Wondering if we will get any in Swansea?

We are Amber for tomorrow and Friday but are we too far West?

It’s gorgeous today. Just got back from walking the dogs on the coast, sun shining, hardly any wind.
