Esmee. fingers and everything else crossed for you.

TheCunkOfPhilomena · 26/02/2018 14:11

I'm in Hastings and we've had a bit of snow today but not much.

Worried about tomorrow as I'm meant to be going to London and coming back about 10pm (train, not car), any advice?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/02/2018 14:11

What time do you need to be at the hospital Esmee?

Philomena as it's by train i'd just play it by ear with your train company.

It's an afternoon slot, so hopefully that will be better. I have been waiting so long for this c-section date that it would be Sod's law for snow to cancel it when we very rarely get snow.

FlowerPotMum · 26/02/2018 14:14

I'm in south Yorkshire. A few flurries here but nothing much. It's so cold though, making my asthma really bad :(. Say safe everyone.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/02/2018 14:15

Keep an eye on things Esmee, you might decide you want to travel earlier.

Herefordshire, beautiful morning. Clouded over a bit but still see blue sky. About to go out and ride. I’ve been putting it off, so cold!

UrsulaPandress · 26/02/2018 14:18

We keep getting random snow flurries but not sticking. It has been dry for a good few days now so at least there is no ice.

I read somewhere earlier that it will be dry snow. I know what that means but can't explain it.

ClosDesMouches · 26/02/2018 14:19

There are a few flakes coming down again now.
Is it just me, or is it odd snow? Confused. it looks different somehow to usual snow.

ShipShop · 26/02/2018 14:20

Met office showing possible heavy snow in Herts at 5pm. Had quite a few showers here today but not settled at all. I'm all prepared for this week but I bet we won't get anything substantial!

cloudberry · 26/02/2018 14:22

No ice yet is a huge relief. It’s so dry here I can’t quite believe in the possibility of snow. DH is adamant that the whole thing has been hyped up, suspect he’s in denial! His business is horses and snow is a right old disruption plus staff can’t get in.

ClosDesMouches · 26/02/2018 14:22

I'm getting worried now.
Do I need to go out and do some panic buying of essentials? eg vodka, gin, Walker's Cheese & Onion etc?

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 26/02/2018 14:23

The flakes have just started here in Central Beds but it's like they're coming in on the wind in fits and starts. I'm hoping it won't be too bad later in the week as I work on top of a massive hill so I'll be watching closely!

gingergenius · 26/02/2018 14:26

Yay! We have Snow in the West Sussex coast!!!!!! ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ ⛄️

TheCunkOfPhilomena · 26/02/2018 14:30

Thanks OYBBK, I'll keep taking a look at the website but I guess I'm worried about getting up to London and not being able to get home again. I really don't like snow!

glitterelf · 26/02/2018 14:33

Just started in Northampton although there's still some blue skies. Hoping it's only a short and sweet flurry as I've got the school runs to do 😣

Titsywoo · 26/02/2018 14:38

Beautiful and sunny here in East Surrey between random snow flurries! Not settling on roads or pavements and some that has settled there has melted so the group is slightly wet so I'm also not sure more will settle here.

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 26/02/2018 14:39

Checking in on the new thread. Snowing on and off but most of it melted by the sun. Important gcse assessment tomorrow and worried about students making it in, I’m getting reports varying between practically nothing to 10cm for Kent.

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 26/02/2018 14:40

hope you manage the trip hassle free.

gallicgirl · 26/02/2018 14:40

You'll be pleased to know I got the sledge out from the very back of the garage. Despite the dire warnings of snowmageddon in the local press, Essex is now sure to be snow free this year. Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/02/2018 14:43

Snow forms different ice crystal patterns at different temperatures and humidities. It's very cool.
Got some meetings now, so I'll be back later.

Snowing here in Bedfordshire for the past hour. Big fluffy flakes.

BiddyPop · 26/02/2018 14:49

A light flurry happened while I was out at lunch in Dublin - tiny flecks of light powdery stuff as predicted by OYBBK and Gloria. All over now.

Apart from a necessary financial transaction, I popped into M&S for an extra couple of vests (proper ones for workwear - rather than my big merino ones for casual) and some socks (OYBBK has generally proven to be right, so spare socks over shoes if necessary going home!! And generally warmer ones for the rest of the week anyway - I needed a few new pairs soon regardless).

Now back to getting as much paperwork done as possible, just in case I can't get into the office later in the week.

TheCunkOfPhilomena · 26/02/2018 14:59

Reastie! Hello! Hope you're escaping the snow up there?
