I accidentally clicked on a headline on Google. ...if you believe the papers, it's going to be armageddon from Thursday, for us Southerners Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/02/2018 21:34

Oh, yes Grin that's hilarious!

Noooooo! I love snow but DH and I are going away for the weekend next week (Midlands to NW England). We have a teenager who gets huffy and embarrassed if we even hold hands and we were looking forward to some time alone Blush.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/02/2018 23:19

that's ok Woollyback, strap frying pans to your feet and walk away.

I'm uncertain as to how much people will get away from higher ground 'oop north'. The block doesn't look as deep this morning and the temps not as cold, so it's possible it will be quite a messy picture with many in the midlands and south seeing a mix of rain sleet and snow. Tuesday is a mini key day, the next is Thursday which I think could go either way at the moment - wet or snow.

'Tis all looking a bit uncertain now, isn't it? Could be an interesting week but a forecasting nightmare!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/02/2018 14:48

warnings through to Tuesday

Fingers crossed for East Kent, snow would be sooooooooo good.

Delatron · 03/02/2018 19:42

We had our one day of snow on December 10th, just when I like snow, in December, by February I'm over it and want Spring!

SinceWhenDid · 03/02/2018 20:22

Woke to snow this morning. Mostly melted now but local ski hill had another 8 inches during the day.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/02/2018 21:07

Spartacus you have a chance as early as tomorrow.

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 03/02/2018 21:13

Oh My!!!! Even if it doesn't happen it's lovely to have hope. Thank you OYBBK, hope you are fully recovered.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/02/2018 21:28

I can type coherent sentences now, that's a massive improvement Grin

Our snow risk for tuesday went from 95% to 0% on netweather.

Was looking forward to it Sad

anothernextsale · 04/02/2018 09:54

Came to check if there was any update for North Kent? Of course DH is now away on business until Friday so I'm left to deal with driving kids to school if the BBC is to be believed tomorrow am (where I'd rather stay in bed and we all have a snow day, I'm sure work will understand Hmm )

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/02/2018 11:07

another, I think you may well get some heavy snow showers early morning tomorrow. Ive got a feeling they will time themselves too late for school closures, but early enough that the trip to school could be a challenge.

OP posts:
GloriaSmud · 04/02/2018 11:20

Updated warnings right through 'til Wednesday now.

I thought I'd get some snow on Tuesday but the weather front sort of fizzles out half-way across the country.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/02/2018 11:31

That's funny, they weren't updated when I looked at them a few minutes ago. What timing!

I expect that if people correlated every time I said I'm not in a snow warning area they'd be able to pinpoint my location quite precisely Grin

Still, whenever there is snow along the east coast I watch carefully for any turn in wind direction. North Easterly or thereabouts winds can cause snow streamers to extend through the Wash and through the Thames, affecting midlands and central southern areas. No sign of that yet but I live in hope.

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 04/02/2018 11:55

Would that effect East Kent too Kitten? Just want some of the white stuff. BBC forecast seems to be rain on and off today, then sleet tonight/early am. I really want to see what Pokemon you get in snow now that they've made the app weather related! Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/02/2018 13:28

I don't know quite how far inland you'll need to be Spartacus.

OP posts:
anothernextsale · 04/02/2018 13:52

Thanks BadKitten. Bought a load of dry logs in from the shed so should have enough to see me through til Tuesday if we are indeed "snowed in" Grin.

Hope you are feeling a tad better btw, DD seems to be struck with some temperature virus on and off since January too, its rubbish isn't it x

gttia · 04/02/2018 16:55

Hope your getting better bad kitten.

Looking at the forecast in north Kent. I hate snow and the impact it will have on my work if it does. I am quite anxious this evening about it

SideOrderofSprouts · 04/02/2018 17:13

We’re apparently going to
Get some
Snow in jersey but it won’t stick
