I’m keeping an eye on this thread and netweather - we are driving up to Acharacle in Scotland next Friday for half term. Hoping to ski at some point so some snow is good, although not whilst driving up thank you!

Riverside2 · 01/02/2018 18:27

Norf London.

looks like snow for Tuesday and is perishingly cold already. Was hoping the cold snap would be quick but forecasts look more like 2 weeks?!

Meh. OBBYK wanna swap homes? Grin

PavoReal · 01/02/2018 19:10

South coast, 86% chance of snow on Tuesday according to netweather. Probably still a bit early for you to comment Gloria and Kitten but I can’t help but get a bit excited. 5 year snow drought down here Sad

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 01/02/2018 21:25

waves to neighbour River !!! It's a bit warmer here tonight, but am not believing a thing until gloria and OYBBK confirm it !!!!

anothernextsale · 01/02/2018 21:40

any forecast for the South East?

brizzledrizzle · 01/02/2018 21:44

It was bitterly cold earlier with a sudden rain shower that was trying very hard to be hail or snow.

Springiscoming123 · 01/02/2018 21:47

we need a thread about next weekSmile

WinteryWalk · 01/02/2018 21:53

Yes I think so Spring, I'm excited already! And it will be a total let down because we never get snow here!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/02/2018 21:54

sorry I'm awol. Got flu and a temp of almost 40c. I know the sky was blue today. That's about it Blush

Get well soon OYBBK we've a few days yet before the possible snow!

AFingerofFudge · 01/02/2018 22:00

OYBBK nooooo, get well soon! If there's is snow next week you can't miss it!!!!Thanks

JillJ72 · 01/02/2018 22:06

OYBBK - I hope you start to recover very soon. Look after yourself.

Twitter weather feeds noting an easterly blast next week, with potential for sub-zero temps and ? heavy snow.

notsomanky · 02/02/2018 06:37

Get well soon OYBBK.

I am last man standing here, everyone else has had the flu,

Cold here this morning but dry.

GloriaSmud · 02/02/2018 09:48

Aw, get well soon OYBBK Flowers and much Brew for you.

Thought I'd attempt a brief summary-type thing for the weekend and next week.
Saturday ~ hilly areas might see snow but rest of the country, more sleet/rain
Sunday~ nicest day of the weekend but cold 1-3C

Monday ~ another cold day, similar to Sunday. A band of rain starts crossing the country from Scotland southwards, Monday afternoon, so could provide a bit of a snowfest for some parts, as it moves slowly across the country Monday night and through Tuesday.
Wednesday ~ nice day, perhaps snow showers for some but really cold, temperatures barely above freezing.
Thursday night/through Friday ~ another band of rain attempts to move in. Could be another snowday for a lot of the country.

As usual, hope I've got some of the above right!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/02/2018 10:36

Everyone's so lovely! Thank you. Night Nurse was a good friend last night.

Plenty of Flowers and Brew for you OYBBK....hope you're on the road to recovery. Thanks Gloria, fingers crossed for snow days !!! It's absolutely arctic here today

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/02/2018 16:06

I wish some of you were here to deliver real Brew I can't be bothered to make any.

I agree with Gloria.

Monday main risk I think is higher ground in the north and the far se.

Tues, lower ground in the north and central areas of England and northern wales. Far se.

Weds - snow for most. Maybe not central southern areas (guess where I am Sad

Thur - some snowy stuff

Fri - maybe my turn.

Take above with giant pinch of salt, you'll have some from the salt supplies you may need for gritting. It's just one model, ages away for precision and delivered by someone who is frankly a bit crap at thinking atm.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/02/2018 16:08

but anyway.... let's get this snow party started. We need a balloons emoticon and a St Bernard's with a massive barrel of rum around its neck.

OP posts:
Springiscoming123 · 02/02/2018 16:18

glad your back kitten

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 02/02/2018 16:29

I have no St Bernard, no rum, and most definitely no salt, due to council deciding our area is not worthy of little yellow salt thingys !!! I do however, have the heating on and a cup of tea !!!!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/02/2018 16:31

fully prepared then whywon't Wink

Thanks Spring :)

PestoSurfissimos · 02/02/2018 16:35

I am hoping for snow, we haven’t had any here (outskirts of Brighton’s) yet this year

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/02/2018 16:38

Pesto, you should remain hopeful about next week.
