[Snowman] No? Bugger.

coughingbean · 26/02/2018 09:51

Bloody freezing cold with tiny snowflakes here in north Hampshire.

kally195 · 26/02/2018 10:01

Waves back at Lux I think the snow clouds are scuttling over us and hitting Ashford!

It's on and off here. If it kept going it appears it would settle. I'm off to work later I work in France and will be taking extra provisions and a change of underwear just in case

notmenope · 26/02/2018 10:22

South central coast here - portsmuff!

Nothing. Nought. Not a sign...

Redpony1 · 26/02/2018 10:23

So cold here in the Cotswolds! Metoffice says no snow until Thursday afternoon though so working on the assumption i may need to work from home on Friday as Cotswold backroads are a nightmare in the snow! Exciting Grin

LuxembergerQueen92 · 26/02/2018 10:23

kally - snow has stopped now and what had laid has disappeared - if you travelling by Channel Tunnel or Eurostar roads look o.k......safe journey!

Jenasaurus · 26/02/2018 10:40

loads of snow in Crawley

Jenasaurus · 26/02/2018 10:40

Constant flow, and looking heavy, although not settling as yet

MorvahRising · 26/02/2018 10:42

Just had a mini blizzard here in Surrey but it hasn’t settled, there’s just a dusting. And now the sun’s out! Drat.

FitBitFanClub · 26/02/2018 10:44

I've just done a week in the Alps skiing, so am done with snow.
Interesting to see cars, buses and delivery vans whizzing up winding mountain passes in blizzards though and all services as normal.

BBQsAreSooooOverrated · 26/02/2018 10:44

Setting in garden but roads are ok so far. It's pretty heavy already, was expecting some this pm but it's really going for it!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/02/2018 10:47

Trains cope remarkably well with snow compared to roads Trotters :)

Bit of a heads up for Thursday - each time I look at the met office the low pressure seems to be bought in earlier than before. So Thursday evening rush hour could be a challenge in the south. This will probably also bring the snow to an earlier close on Friday. However, GFS delays the low pressure on the latest run so that it doesnt affect the south at all until late Thursday night! So much disagreement still.

The met office website is really creaking under pressure today.

Not long back from a two hour walk in the snow with DDog. She loves it! Kent.

MrPan · 26/02/2018 10:54

Train tracks now have little heaty things at 'points' so they never actually freeze open/closed, so trains won't stop running due to the temperatures. Short of an avalanche you will always be able to get to work.

Bastards.

GloriaSmud · 26/02/2018 10:55

Apart from the occasional snow flurry, not a lot happening in Leicester. It is though very cold ~ 1C.
What a time for the metoffice website to throw a wobbly.

whereareyousleep · 26/02/2018 10:57

Few flurries here now in South Yorkshire after a very fine covering this morning

PestoSurfissimos · 26/02/2018 11:05

Snowing again here!! 🤗

Titsywoo · 26/02/2018 11:07

Very odd here in Easy Surrey. Nothing when I got up at 7.30 and a few flakes were fluttering down when I left home at 8.15. 5 mins later is was heaving down then sunshine then another blizzard and same again over and over. It's settling but keeps melting away on the roads and pavements when the sun comes out even though the temp is below zero.

I grew up in Lewes (waves). At the first sign of snow we'd be off to Baxter's field. No one had any sledges so we used heavy-duty garden bags... Septimus Quench when you're sledging down School Hill (against the one-way system) make sure there are no 4x4s coming up the hill. Grin

Jenasaurus · 26/02/2018 11:18

Road, rail and air travellers could face severe disruption, with BBC Weather warning of possibly hazardous conditions in southern England later in the week as a low pressure weather system moves up from the Bay of Biscay and hits the already "exceptionally cold air".

Jenasaurus · 26/02/2018 11:19

It has stopped snowing here in Crawley, and the sun is shinning, dont think the snow if it falls will settle

notsomanky · 26/02/2018 11:21

Lovely blue skies here still, we have had the odd flake but dont expect more here

AngelsWithSilverWings · 26/02/2018 11:23

We've had loads of snow falling but the sun keeps coming out in between heavy flurries and melting everything! Essex coast.

SeaLionsOnMyShirt · 26/02/2018 11:26

I'm totally confused with the forecasts now - the Met Office have a Yellow warning of snow for our area (Surrey) for tomorrow, but Netweather & Metcheck say it will be clear & dry all day. They're not making it easy for us trying to plan appointments this week! Confused

InMySpareTime · 26/02/2018 11:27

@Jenasaurus Noooooo! I have a Thursday evening flight from London, if only one flight makes it through snowmageddon it'd better be that one!
