This was last night at Carrick-a-Rede on the Co Antrim Coast - Aurora was dancing in the sky at one stage but we were in the car at that time - was amazing to see - am heading out again shortly to see if there is anything tonight

This is a picture a friend took in West Lothian, Scotland last night

Thanks ademanlu and Inkle, though I think Inkle's friend edges it on the showiness of the pics. Smile It's great to see some UK homegrown pics on the thread - and welcome new posters!

InkleWinkle · 08/10/2015 21:06

Sadly I didn't see it, I was already in bed when he posted on FB to say he was going out to take photos. And a whole raft of people posted back saying 'yeah right mate, you'll never see anything' ??

GloriaSmud · 08/10/2015 21:07

Very nice, RomCom.
Clear skies and I think there's possibly a greenish tinge at Þingvellir this evening.

DH said to me last night if I'd got off my arse we're only an hour so from an area with dark skies by car. I really should have gone, but I'd already put my pyjamas on and I couldn't be arsed. I have to question my commitment to the 'lights', because last night was probably my best chance of seeing them anywhere near where we live.

GloriaSmud · 08/10/2015 22:21

Some lovely stuff going on at Þingvellir (still haven't worked out how to do screenshots from the Icelandic webcams) and Tromso is yet again, the star of the show!

And some lovely stuff going on on the Norwegian one I found.

That camera was an excellent find, Gloria. It's very scenic during the day and I bet it will look lovely when it's snowy.

RomComPhooey · 08/10/2015 23:06

Do you think MNHQ would add the link to your OP, Gloria?

RomComPhooey · 09/10/2015 19:57

Tromso looking good again tonight, though more of what we've had recently so I'll save my pic ration.

GloriaSmud · 10/10/2015 09:37

Good idea, RomCom! When I get a moment, I'll try and put together an e-mail.

I think I can see the aurora at Tromso during daylight hours - see pic.

Check the time stamp on the pic Wink

RomComPhooey · 10/10/2015 18:17

Doh! Serves me right for getting all trusting with these cameras.

RomComPhooey · 10/10/2015 18:18

Yeah but... There's a touch of the aurora on both the Sodankyla and Kiruna cameras (N orientation) just now & it's only just after nightfall.

RomComPhooey · 13/10/2015 22:34

Svalbard just now.

So jealous Moose!

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 14/10/2015 06:24

There are advantages to living in the arse end of nowhere :)

RomComPhooey · 14/10/2015 06:26

That's a great photo, Moose.

GloriaSmud · 14/10/2015 06:27

Moose ~ Envy And you don't even have to go out in the cold either!
There might be some good stuff to be seen on cameras as an Aurora Watch was issued early this morning. The sun is also quite unsettled at the moment, so might produce something in the coming days.

Hint of green on Alaska's Auroracam at the moment (can't seem to do pictures from that one.)

RomComPhooey · 15/10/2015 22:00

The aurora is really trying to get going at the mo (Kiruna, cloudy Tromso, Muonio), but its pretty underwhelming.
