I'd like to say to people stumbling across this thread and thinking "what's the aurora got to do with me" - you may be able to see if from your own locality!
In the UK:
Orkney and Shetland regions get regular aurora (but if you're there you probably know this...)
Northern Scotland gets aurora fairly often.
North Coast of Ireland, Anglesey, Northumberland etc quite a few times a year.
West coast of Ireland, North Norfolk a few times a year.
At least twice a year recently all the way down to the south coast (where it's dark enough)

So keep an eye out, and on this thread!

Not a lot been going on since starting the thread for this season but the Icelandic Metoffice are giving an 'Active' forecast for Aurora over the next few days. Spaceweather are also saying there might be a chance of some Aurora as a result of the Earth 'crossing through a fold in the heliospheric current sheet.'

I've noticed one of the webcams has restarted ~ the Yellowknife one (on the Aurora service collection) is back. (I think that was the one that said they had 'Gone fishin!' Hope they caught something!)

I just spotted a low key one on the Porjus skycap.

Kiruna's back up & running too, though nothing much doing. Happy days!

Faint aurora at both Porjus and Kiruna again tonight.

Brighter stuff at Kiruna now ~ very nice.

Looking at the current auroral oval, might be a good night for Canada/Alaska!

Think there might be much Aurora loveliness about tonight as there's an excellent auroral oval at the moment!

Pretty at Porjus. I think there might even be a hint of green on the Helsinki camera, although it's a bit cloudy - would make sense with the high Kp levels.

Aurora starting on Kiruna too.

It's lovely at Porjus - getting some of the purple curtain effect going now.

Just makes you wish they'd flippin' switch the Abisko camera back on too.
