Amber alert, things are hotting up a bit. Anybody seeing aurora up t'north?

we've had a glimpse earlier at 8.45 ish, fading and clouded out about half an hour later, but cannot upload photos, it would appear my phone and MN are not friends this evening!

Just had a drive out of town to darker sky area, nothing to see but DH has some photo's that look a bit greenish. Will have to take a closer look when they are downloaded to computer though. (Derbyshire)

I saw the alert just before midnight (and heading out to do fireworks!) Despite the alert, not a lot seems to have shown up on the webcams

FadedRed ~ really hope you managed to catch something in your photos.

Gloria yes, there is something on the photos!!!!!
It's faint but definitely there, green and purple. I have attempted to attach a photo, but it keeps failing and the page reloading - this is my fourth attempt.

I think it's a reflection ~ it looks the same now as it did in my photo.

And I've just found Porjus3 is back too!

RomCom I have tried several times and it just won't load. I think the file is too big as it certainly took longer to download when DH sent it to me, maybe the photo software he used doesn't match whatever is on mine. I'm not photo techy enough to know how to change it to a compatible format.

I've managed to load the photo into 'my Mumsnet account' if anyone is interested enough to look there. I don't know how to transfer it from there to this thread though.

Faded I think you need to click on something to allow people to see your photos in your profile. From what I remember, I think your name is underlined (like mine is) if you've done that.

Nice to see, all webcams are working at the Aurora service (some weren't working and Helsinki seemed to be stuck on showing blue sky.)

Gloria and RomCom thanks, glad you can see the green. Just hope that next time there's there's red alert, we can actually see something, rather than just get it on a long exposure photo!

Abisko is a bust, but the EU sky camera site is quite tasty at the mo.

Yay! Shame the Porjus sky cam is down at the mo.

There's also something going on at the live streaming Hotel Ranga webcam in Iceland, but it's a bit meh compared to the EU cameras.
