Not whatsoever, just a little breeze which has dried lots of laundry. The sun is out now. We're supposed to get it but it's obviously changed course.

digerd · 28/10/2013 11:41

It's raining here after being sunny since 8.30Confused. No stormy winds Smile

No storm here, but we now have an immaculate garden Grin

Iris445 · 28/10/2013 11:56

Mignonette, have to say I'm a mountain walker and last year we saw so many people out in inappropriate clothing / footwear.

Thigh deep snow and we saw groups with trainers and shorts! No bag, coat. Shock We even encountered a group with small children who were crying hysterically to get off the mountain. Dad responded with this is character building...I kid you not.

I feel for the rescue services.

mignonnette · 28/10/2013 12:13

Iris - It is unbelievable really. I know I am a worry wart and have probably inculcated my children with a full set of phobias but some people really are so utterly stupid.

I saw a woman walking up Snowdon in high heels last year. There was also a photograph of another woman in heels-not the same woman. Sadly there is more than one Shock

CinnabarRed · 28/10/2013 12:16

The thought of hysterical children with a character-building dad is just horrific.

Iris445 · 28/10/2013 13:18

I know, i know....we had come off the tops as it was that bad, I thought I might blow over.

Now this might out me in real life. The youngest child was tied to dad with a rope!! Dad was taking a hard route and mum did the easier route with the taller child.

I did check to see if they were rescued.
Last year was the worst year for idiots on hills. I also did snowden in the snow and one couple had a baby in a cheap snowsuit in a backpack with a plastic bag tied over it. I was in full winter mountain clothing and not overly warm. The baby must have been freezing!

I see children poorly dressed all the time, wellies, next type coats whilst mum and dad are all kitted out. Makes my blood boil.

BeckyBrandon · 28/10/2013 14:36

Started absolutely pelting it down in surrey 10 mins ago. Not stopped yet.

mignonnette · 28/10/2013 14:39

Oh Iris

It gets worse as you describe it. I just don't know what to say. i was dragged along Hellvellyn aged sixteen in the pouring rain by the irresponsible Father of a BF. I was dressed for a Polar expedition but I sobbed behind my zipped up hood the whole way up, along and down. Absolute terror every time I saw scree sliding and imagined myself shortly to follow.

Hey MrsDV, we are still at ours. It was hairiest for us at 4am, but pretty rotten most of the day, very windy and absolutely torrential rain - I ended up with 3 screechy 8 year olds playing indoors all day. When the other two went back to theirs I thought I'd gone deaf!

It's been dry all day here today, but it's bitter cold now and the wind has picked up again. According to the news there should be more rain overnight.

(At least DH has completely given up on the camping plan - small mercies)

Ruin our lawns (sometimes)
Don't keep us warm
