We don't seem to have had any win Halloween Confused lots of rain, but nothing out of the ordanairy. We're on the south west coast.

Ingles2 · 28/10/2013 07:03

We're in rural Kent, by the marsh. It's been blowing a hooley for some hours now and was lashing with rain. That's stopped now thankfully. I've lost 2 trees so far, a 60ft ash and a damson. Stepped outside to investjgate but couldn't walk as the force of the wind was too strong :-o

fuzzywuzzy · 28/10/2013 07:05

Thank you reported it, the paperboy half dragged it off the road (bless him). Half the tree is still up and not looking good!

Rowgtfc72 · 28/10/2013 07:05

Woke up in Cleethorpes to torrential rain. Its supposed to leave the country via the east coast. Ancient Jack Russells most unamused at being sent out for a wee. Hope everyone's safe. See CI got gusts of 99mph. Pleased DD isnt back to school till tomorrow.

saintlyjimjams · 28/10/2013 07:05

Tree down around the corner from here.

Augustaprodworthy · 28/10/2013 07:06

Raining here in cambs now. Bit windy but not howling down the chimney so think its bit going to be as bad here.

kitsmummy · 28/10/2013 07:06

Somerset here - that was useless, I was hoping for at least some excitement! Does anyone know if that's it for us?

digerd · 28/10/2013 07:06

S.Herts.
Got really scary already, sounds like planes flying over constantly. Just heard a howling noise and it wasn't the dog.
My lights have just flickered and the phone is peeping on and off.. Is it going to get even worse.?

TheArticFunky · 28/10/2013 07:07

I think it's going away now .

ChippingInNeedsANYFUCKER · 28/10/2013 07:08

Radio 4 have just said that it is supposed to get worse in Berkshire - 80 degree winds to come. Something like 17,000 homes are without power (I assume in Berkshire).

Greenandcabbagelooking · 28/10/2013 07:08

The wind just disappeared for 30 seconds and it all went quiet. Odd. Is that the eye? Do storms have eyes?

mignonnette · 28/10/2013 07:09

Jil372

I read that as the reindeer had been thrown across your garden Grin.

laza222 · 28/10/2013 07:09

All pretty calm here in north west London. Is that it? They were reporting we'd get the brunt of it at 8am.

NorksAreMessy · 28/10/2013 07:10

Poor OYBBK , she will miss all the weathery drama

We need a whip-round for an emergency generator. She is a vital service to MNetters

Sleepingbunnies · 28/10/2013 07:10

So at 9am how likely is it that I will be able to get on a train ....?

starsandunicorns · 28/10/2013 07:11

North west here lots of rain I just drove to south cheshire for work there is alot of surface water on the m6 south lanes and the a50 has lots of surface water

ChippingInNeedsANYFUCKER · 28/10/2013 07:13

That Radio 4 report said those winds were for the 'South East' not just Berkshire apparently.

youarewinning · 28/10/2013 07:13

According to a report at 7am the south have had worst and worst is current over South Anglia and heading to N sea - expected to leave UK around 10am ish.

Geckos48 · 28/10/2013 07:13

Nothing to report in Salisbury, not even a little bit stormy.

Seems to have passed us right by.

Just opened the blind and there is lots of blue sky so at least not raining, but still sounds like planes flying above me.

ChippingInNeedsANYFUCKER · 28/10/2013 07:17

From OYBBK

'This storm hasn't got an eye but I think it had gust front forming at 8am. Now convective winds which are by nature gusty. Storm looks likely to hit Denmark very hard'
