Just had bacon Sarnie now going to get ready for work :)

Hulababy · 28/10/2013 07:30

Is very very windy outside in Essex!

GigiDarcy · 28/10/2013 07:32

Norfolk/Suffolk border here. DH said wind woke him a couple of times in night, windy here now but no worse than last night. Mind you, dropped DH off at bus stop for work and saw a bin collector nearly taken off his feet as he dragged 2 empty wheelie bins. Put ours out but watching them like a hawk, they are always collected by 8 so will be hiding them away again. Am on half term so am weather watching with cat who wants me to switch off all adverse weather so she can go out!

ChippingInNeedsANYFUCKER · 28/10/2013 07:32

Sorry - laptop behaving badly - can someone else please start a new thread - I really have to leave for work!

cloudskitchen · 28/10/2013 07:38

Dh flying out of Heathrow. Pilot said worst weather was 30 mins ago and apart from bumpy takeoff flight expected to be normal. Looks like it may be clearing surrey and surrounding.

blankslate · 28/10/2013 07:39

Sussex coast (Newhaven) rain stopped sometime between 5-6am here, wind has picked up but no worse than it was during yesterday, so far. Had to go out to do an emergency repair on the shed earlier and there was even patches of clear blue sky breaking through the cloud.

WhoKnowsWhereTheSlimeGoes · 28/10/2013 07:39

Yes Mignonette - I just saw that and tutted about irresponsible examples. Particularly insensitive considering someone lost their life yesterday on a beach not far away.

HissyFucker · 28/10/2013 07:39

Pressure rising again now, wind seems to be dropping, fewer gusts.

DS has dentist appointment at 9, so work knows i'll not be in till after then, i'll see how conditions are at 8.30, but it's looking hopeful.

Just wish they could switch the power back on!

topknob · 28/10/2013 07:40

Power keeps going off and on....hoping it stays on.

flootshoot · 28/10/2013 07:42

Seems to be dying down in north surrey

Nothing much here in Birmingham.

LIZS · 28/10/2013 07:46

Still gusty but much calmer and some sunshine !

Badvoc · 28/10/2013 07:49

Oh! Sandiacre is just up the road from me!
Rain in north west lecis. Didn't hear any wind during the night. Hopefully it will pass us by...

Kernowgal · 28/10/2013 07:49

Definitely calming down here (mid-Surrey) but strong gusts from time to time. Am waiting for work to update their phone message to tell us whether we can go in or not.

TheArticFunky · 28/10/2013 07:50

Sun is out now.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 28/10/2013 07:50

calm in my part of Kent, still occasional gusts but dry and bright

JemimaMuddledUp · 28/10/2013 07:50

West Wales here. It is a lot calmer now than it was when I went to bed last night, although it is still wet and windy. There are a couple of roads closed locally due to trees that fell last night and some pretty impressive waves coming in from the sea, but other than that we seem to have come off lightly.

BabylonReturns · 28/10/2013 07:50

New thread here......

TheHumancatapult · 28/10/2013 07:52

M11 is bad by by Stansted trees over slow lane plus lorry overturned

Delivery driver just told me and said not good go out in Van as he was was fighting his all time

OneStepCloser · 28/10/2013 07:56

SE London here, two trees on my street down one is lying in my friends front garden blocking her front door, have text her to see if she wants anything passing through the window!, bins over the road and my sold sign snapped in half. Big branch in back garden. Confused as local news said the worse is meant to hit London between 8am and 9am? Overground train suspended in this area. But just looks a blowy.

Poor OYWWW, hope you get power back soon.

mignonnette · 28/10/2013 07:59

It's going for it here now-West Suffolk. A howl of wind and all I can see are hundreds of leaves swirling past the window. The Buddleja on the derelict site over the road is a twisted skein of branches but they are so flexible they are unlikely to break.

My stupid stupid son has gone to work on his bike eschewing offers of a lift. Am Angry with him.

mignonnette · 28/10/2013 08:02

Whoknows

They are still running the feature on those dumb ass Brighton swimmers. If anybody knows any of them please do tell them never to call the lifeboat out should they get into difficulties swimming in storm conditions.

Why should my Brother in Law risk his life to save A holes like them?

MrsHerculePoirot · 28/10/2013 08:10

mignonnette he was 14. Yes he did a stupid thing, but have some compassion for him, his family and friends.
