6 years in this house and I've never heard the wind howling through the front door and coming down the chimney flue to the wood burner the way it is now. Crumpets and tea on the go Grin

Mum2toomany · 28/10/2013 06:45

Mum2toomany · 28/10/2013 06:46

Meant heathrow

TheArticFunky · 28/10/2013 06:47

Crikey it's getting really quite blowy now. Hmm

Turnipinatutu · 28/10/2013 06:48

Sussex....large tree fallen towards my neighbours house, missing his van and the top of the tree just touching the front door! Doesn't look to be any major damage and everyone is ok...phew
Still extremely gusty here, but the torrential rain stopped.

digerd · 28/10/2013 06:51

Well, it is definitely getting windier especially at the back facing west and noisier. and not even 7am yet.

LadyCelia · 28/10/2013 06:51

On days like this I am glad my stepdad is a tree surgeon. We've had a close shave here (Surrey) , most of a large tree has come down in our garden but landed across the patio & garden - another foot or so to the right and it would have come into our bedroom window.

Sharpkat · 28/10/2013 06:52

My flat overlooks a dock just off the Thames. Those poor people on their houseboats - the waves are going over them.

The dock looks like the sea and the poor ducks are struggling.

JillJ72 · 28/10/2013 06:53

N Bucks again, horrible noise. Render whipped off next door's house and thrown into our garden.

Greenandcabbagelooking · 28/10/2013 06:54

East Kent here. It's very windy, but no rain (at the moment).

Sleepingbunnies · 28/10/2013 06:54

Very windy in south east!

Methe · 28/10/2013 06:55

Slightly breezy with a bit of drizzle in the West Midlands. I'm just about to leave for a our long drive to work so I hope it stays reasonable.

digerd · 28/10/2013 06:56

A pair of birds just flew away from the trees opposite me to find a more stable roost, I supposeSmile

LumpySpacePrincessOhMyGlob · 28/10/2013 06:57

There are you in Norfolk Iactually?

We are in Wells next the Sea andd it's lashing down here.

fuzzywuzzy · 28/10/2013 06:57

arse there's a tree just come down across the road right outside my house, I'm at a cross roads, who do I alert (non emergency police not picking up and there's a five minute wait!)?

I ensvision lots of accidents as drivers tend to come careering down in all three directions.

MakeMeJumpIntoTheAir · 28/10/2013 06:58

i'm actually quite scared. In London and opposite a building site, and there's bits flying off it all over the place. I'm shaking now. People still walking around and cars on the roads though.

OddBoots · 28/10/2013 06:59

Luton: Just starting to go from quite windy to very windy here. I'm glad I laid my bird tables down and behind a wall, the neighbours around haven't and there is a real mess of garden furniture inc gazebos and washing lines scattered about in their gardens. I have ~just~ put my bins out for collection and I'm keeping my eye on them, the lorry just came to collect glass so they are running at the moment (although for how long I don't know).

Hairytoes · 28/10/2013 06:59

Fuzzy look on your local councils webpage, ours has a number to report.

DarkHorse2013 · 28/10/2013 07:00

Mid Kent - wind picking up and now very strong gusts and doors, windows and roof all creaking and rattling. And the power has been off for about half an hour, what a bore!
Chickens all safely tucked up in the garage so no worries there, cat complaining bitterly as she wants to go out (not a chance!), and I am watching the storm from under my duvet! Fingers crossed it passes quickly for everyone with minimal damage!

Iactuallydothinkso · 28/10/2013 07:00

Lumpy space, just south of the fine city! I'm jumping in the shower and leaving in about 40 minutes! Hopefully I'll get away with it! I hear that you will be worse off. Batten down the hatches!

CatThiefKeith · 28/10/2013 07:01

Very windy in NW Kent. Branches down in the park and not sure my garden fence is going to hold out. No rain though. Not sure if this is it though, news says the worst will be 8-1am Confused

ChippingInNeedsANYFUCKER · 28/10/2013 07:01

LadyCelia - thank god for your step father!!

Sharpkat - sod the storm... I'm very envious of your location!!!

Jill - sounds nasty!!

It's times like this we need a roll call - as those badly hit probably aren't going to be able to let us know :(

Meglet · 28/10/2013 07:02

fuzzy our council website had put up a link to report fallen trees and other hazards. You could try them?

The wind kept waking me up in the night but I haven't looked outside yet. I didn't hear any crashing anyway......
