:) in case I'm not back by the time the other one fills up.

OP posts:

Oh no Shock as I typed that my NDN rung me - we share a washing line and both had stuff out. The metal post had snapped in half and it'd taken off down the garden. Two of the legs had bent in 2 aswell!

I'd just said to DS that was a big gust of wind understatement of the day!

ChippingInNeedsANYFUCKER · 27/10/2013 12:14

Right - I'm off for a windy walk then helping out a friend for a few hours, see you all this evening

ChippingInNeedsANYFUCKER · 27/10/2013 12:16

youarewinning that's a shame. It's really really windy here too (hampshire), I was tempted to put the washing on the rotary line, but thought it might turn into a giant spinning kite!

ScaryHalloweenName · 27/10/2013 12:16

It's quite bright in mid Cornwall but blustery

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 27/10/2013 12:18

Wind picking up here in Dorset...

CatAmongThePigeons · 27/10/2013 12:19

South Devon has good gusts of winds and squally showers. The shipping forecast looks atrocious. There's boats and ships mooring up for shelter here at the moment

NoWayNoHow · 27/10/2013 12:19

On Surrey and Middlesex borders and it is VERY blowy here now - being shoved sideways when walking over the river!

youarewinning · 27/10/2013 12:19

chipping I'm south Hampshire - my rotary washing line thought it was Dorothy for a moment - only got about 10m - not over a rainbow but did a great spinning kite inpersonation!

OddBoots · 27/10/2013 12:21

It's getting windier here in Luton. I've just been out to clear the drains in our street of leaves as they were all blocked and I think rain will be as much of a problem as wind.

waikikamookau · 27/10/2013 12:22

putting a load of washing in, think the wind will keep the rain off,

NoWayNoHow · 27/10/2013 12:24

skyeskyeskye DH is in North Devon, supposedly travelling back to London tonight. If you see him, please tell him to stop being a mule and get himself home BEFORE the weather washes and blows him off the road...

DreamlessSleep · 27/10/2013 12:24

Dorset, quite gusty. Have packed up the garden furniture, well most of it and put the rest flat in an attempt to stop it doing damage to anything. Worried as there is a massive tree on tge opposite house from ours so hope that doesnt go anywhere.

MissMillament · 27/10/2013 12:26

I'm on the Hampshire coast. It's blowing old boots already and our building is covered in scaffolding. A couple of boards have already come loose and are banging around but the builders have just arrived so hopefully will start tying things down - don't envy them going up there in these conditions right now.

musicposy · 27/10/2013 12:32

Marking my place from when I get down from my scary Wimbledon trip this evening. Missmillament, glad they have arrived now!

musicposy · 27/10/2013 12:33

Oops get back. Hope I am not literally up in the air!

ChubbyKitty · 27/10/2013 12:34

Music you could be...don't wear anything too baggyWink

alcibiades · 27/10/2013 12:36

Southern Hampshire - clouding over and getting much windier.

MissMillament - there's scaffolding over the house across the road from me (pics on my profile), and I'm worried about that. But your situation sounds a bit more scary.

RegainingUnconsciousness · 27/10/2013 12:44

We're heading back to devon on the M5, driving towards lots of cloud, fairly damp. Pretty gusty (we've just crossed into Somerset).

I'm glad we're doing this now, instead of later as originally planned!

waikikamookau · 27/10/2013 12:44

just realise I wont be able to mumsnet if we have a power cut, even if the lap top is charged, we will have no broadband Sad

bigwellyfucker · 27/10/2013 12:45

Hanging out in East of England (just north of norwich) and I would definitely describe the weather as gusty with sunny breaks.

I've arranged to take DH to work in the morning because of the weather. We spent yesterday sorting the garden and trying to get as much as possible tied down.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 27/10/2013 12:47

In London, getting very blustery and wet after a lovely blue sky earlier. Waiting to collect my DD from Heathrow and can't decide whether I am more worried about her landing safely or driving to the airport on the elevated section of the motorway! Planning to be a wuss and go on the A roads instead.

Please let the winds hold offlonger!

tillyo · 27/10/2013 12:49

I'm in kent and it's very windy, washing line has just toppled over so that's now out of the ground stored behind shed.

Scarymuff · 27/10/2013 12:49

Marking place for later.

magicscares · 27/10/2013 12:50

I'm going to stock up on things this afternoon- have I missed anything?

Herisson · 27/10/2013 12:50

Working, I am very near Heathrow and it's windy but not too bad so far - and no rain yet. Don't worry!
