smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 27/10/2013 11:31

my part of Kent is sunny and dry but it's colder than it has been and quite gusty.

merlin · 27/10/2013 11:34

Gusty in Bournemouth!

ouryve · 27/10/2013 11:35

Up in the northeast. We're due heavu rain, this afternoon and it's rather gusty (nowt unusual there). Our weather warnngs are currenly for tomorrow.

EeTraceyluv · 27/10/2013 11:35

Worried about getting a train from cambridge to london tomorrow...

flootshoot · 27/10/2013 11:35

Gusty here in North Surrey. It looks lovely and was contemplating taking the DC out but heard the roar of the wind when I opened the door and changed my mind! Strong enough here to fling the door open.

car between our house and next door with wheelie bins wedged behind it in front of the garage. Cant put the car/bins inside the garage as it's full of DH's crap stuff.

TheHumancatapult · 27/10/2013 11:36

Over by Stansted airport and bit blowy but not unusual but mild and sunny blue sky's to. Not noticed any less flights taking of or landing yet

humancatapult we're right by Heathrow and it does seem quieter today although it does vary from day to day anyway.

ohtobemeagain · 27/10/2013 11:40

Very gusty in Somerset. Only drizzly rain at the mo. I second the comment about animals, all my dogs are being irritating at the moment, sort of skittish.

GloriaSmud · 27/10/2013 11:40

I've just been to Aldi to do some after-holiday shopping and it was awful. I turned up 5 minutes after they'd opened and the car park was already full and they'd run out of milk as they hadn't had a delivery.
Nightmare I tell you

Auntidote · 27/10/2013 11:45

The weather warnings haven't been updated yet but the forecast winds overnight here (Warwickshire) are no stronger than the current forecast. Gists 34mph, down from a forecast of 49mph yesterday.

It's windy here and the sunshine has just gone in & a bit of rain arrived. But nothing out of the ordinary.

TheHumancatapult · 27/10/2013 11:46

Flootshoot

I tend use planes as weather indicator .

kaytola · 27/10/2013 11:48

Sunny and blowy here in South Yorks but there are some big black clouds a-coming.

TeWiSavesTheDay · 27/10/2013 11:48

Getting a bit darker and windier in v south east midlands.

Really hoping neighbour is going to move their bins otherwise they're going to be hitting everyone's cars...

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 27/10/2013 11:51

just listening to BBC Kent and they are saying storm expected to hit us around midnight but that's earlier than you are predicting kitty. are they just being alarmist or has it moved forward?

simpson · 27/10/2013 11:51

marking place for when old thread fills up. Getting very gusty here in South Hampshire now - and this isn't even 'the' storm Grin

LostInWales · 27/10/2013 11:55

Latest from the met office for OYBBK and her mobile, updated 11.36. Still same matrix and areas for orange/yellow.

"There remains slight uncertainty in the timing, intensity and track of the low as well as the northern limit of the strongest winds. However, the public should be prepared for the risk of falling trees as well as damage to buildings and other structures, bringing disruption to transport and power supplies. The public should also consider adjusting travel plans.

This warning has been updated to bring forward the end time."

36-58mph on our wind map now I am obsessed help me.

Bunbaker · 27/10/2013 12:02

Sitting here in Northumberland OH is being very cynical and saying that it is only massive news because it will affect London and the south east Hmm

etherealgrace · 27/10/2013 12:03

I just read 'to bring forward end time' as 'to bring forward the end OF time' !

skyeskyeskye · 27/10/2013 12:06

North Devon - just started tipping it down and the wind is getting up

PseudoBadger · 27/10/2013 12:12

We had a lovely dog walk earlier in blustery North london outskirts - but right as we were getting back in the car there was a huge gust. I had the tailgate up on the van and the wind got right under it and rocked the van...
Hopefully if it's windy all week into next weekend there'll be less fireworks to scare the dogs....

ChippingInNeedsANYFUCKER · 27/10/2013 12:12

Pesto - I'm guessing your DD has a ski course tomorrow? LOL Is it possible for you to drive up tonight and stay over? It's what I would do in your situation.

GloriaSmud · 27/10/2013 12:13

Just posting the metoffice warning page as warning areas have changed slightly ~ it seems to get updated at 56-58 mins past the hour at the moment.
