well, it looks like winter finally might be arriving!

First indications for snow are for this coming saturday as a low pressure draws in cold air . The met office arent really going for it at the moment, but the potential is certainly there. At the moment I'd say the biggest risk is for the midlands and central England.

After that there seems to be a cold few days but then the models start to disagree. GFS shows a positive snow fest for the 24th! masses of snow, but its a long way off and until we get much closer who knows what really will happen.

I've posted in Chat, but what are our chances in Lincolnsire, near Louth? Lots, a little bit, or should I prepare for Snowmaggedon?

DamnDeDoubtance · 13/01/2013 14:56

She won`t answer, probably too busy making fluffy snowballs and chugging down hot chocolate. Envy

teddymummy · 13/01/2013 14:59

Which websites are we liking for the forecasts ATM?

IAmLouisWalsh · 13/01/2013 15:02

I am really, really worrying about this now. I am pathetic, I know, but I have a long train journey tomorrow night. It is work related. The main issue is going to be spending all day tomorrow worrying with people saying 'ooh, I wouldn't go if I were you'.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/01/2013 15:06

Sarahs you are likely to have a lot of snow both tomorrow and into Tuesday with snow showers weds and thurs.

Teddy, I'd go for the met office if you want a straight forecasting site.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/01/2013 15:08

Yaaaaaaayyy Grin

Sparklingbrook · 13/01/2013 15:24

Sad I have begrudgingly got the snow shovel out. Sad Not the sledges though. i have decided we won't have enough for sledging.

GlaikitFizzog · 13/01/2013 15:26

Our snow is too wet :(

Sledge remains in the shed

Sparklingbrook · 13/01/2013 15:29

It looks like we are going to get light snow, followed by heavy snow then sleet then rain all before 9am tomorrow. Confused

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/01/2013 15:30

I think you will manky, tonight and into the early hours.

I nearly bought a snow shovel yesterday but we never have snow here Smile

denialandpanic · 13/01/2013 15:30

getting very dark and grey in southwest Surrey, but soars to be coming from the south.I want expecting anything until tomorrowShock

JustinMumsnot · 13/01/2013 15:31

I'm in Devon OYBBK. Any chance of a bit of the white stuff coming our way?

denialandpanic · 13/01/2013 15:31

I hate posting on my phone.I meant it seems to be coming from the south and I wasn't expecting anything until tomorrowAngry

Molepom · 13/01/2013 15:33

Sheffield?

DD's school tends to close at the mere whif of snow (for a good reason I may add) so I would like an idea of how much we're likely to get.

Molepom · 13/01/2013 15:33

*whiff

mankyscotslass · 13/01/2013 15:35

OOh thanks OYBBK - the sky looks heavy now, and grey - the kids will be excited, DH less so.

funkybuddah · 13/01/2013 15:40

Proper hate North Hampshire....we never get anything good (doesnt mention the previous snowmageedons that were all over the news here)

Still

I want snow! If no snow can it just be spring instead and get v mild? No snow no point after christmas

MrsAFlowerpot · 13/01/2013 15:40

Im anxiously excited. Am in Herts but work in N London. Worried we might get lots here and none where I work. Scared of driving in snow following horrible accident in 2010.

Heavy snow in both is acceptable

FyreFly · 13/01/2013 16:01

Hampshire doesn't tend to get anything good funky

I live in Eastleigh and work in Gosport, I doubt I'll be seeing snow anytime soon, we're too near the sea! I miss living up in the midlands sometimes...

DialsMavis · 13/01/2013 16:01

I think it's looking like a smattering in the arse end of West London, then all washed away by horrid winters rain? Sad

mankyscotslass · 13/01/2013 16:03

We have snow falling! Grin

Tiny wet flakes, but its a start!
