Can't promise that I'll be able to add as much as I usually do (not very well atm) so its quite likely I might miss stuff but I've added a few thoughts to that thread re the current set up and tis easier if I just keep it in one place.

Sun has gone from my part of Surrey. Grey skies now. Dh got to go into London for the evening (work) and worried he won't get home on the train.

MissAnnersley · 04/02/2012 11:52

It certainly looks amazing. I'm hoping it starts raining soon though as we have booked tickets to go and see War Horse this afternoon and I'm worried about the roads. Sad

What a nightmare with the washing machine. At least you can have a day off from washing. Grin

TheHumancatapult · 04/02/2012 12:02

Ambi · 04/02/2012 12:11

Snow here in Warrington.

archfiend · 04/02/2012 12:11

Just started snowing here- Worcestershire - fairly little flakes, not settling yet . Quite impressed, forecast said snow showers from noon and it started at around 12pm!

Sparklingbrook · 04/02/2012 12:13

Ooh archfiend nothing in this bit yet. Grin

notveryinventive · 04/02/2012 12:14

Im in York and really really dont want snow, rather have it during the week when the kids are at school less chance of snowballs.

Its forecast to snow a bit at three and get heavy by 6 then stay heavy until around midnight when it should stop, but of course it will lay then snowballs will commence. Not at each other, but at my house :(

Currently it is cloudy, but its not snowy clouds just know they are going to come. Just seen the weather forecast, the local one suggests snow here at 2, the national one suggests 4. I just hope as we are in a vale we wont get that much, but I know we will.

Sorry not a snow fan here.

Sparklingbrook · 04/02/2012 12:16

Yay! We have little flakes here. Grin

mankyscotslass · 04/02/2012 12:16

Started snowing here now.

archfiend · 04/02/2012 12:21

sparkling Grin I wished reeeally hard and sent it to the rest of the county!

mankyscotslass · 04/02/2012 12:24

Very small flakes but already lying on the frozen ground.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 12:25

notveryinventive - I'm sorry that it brings such dread for you :(

nothing too critical that needs washing - just dds school jumpers but I can hang them up in the fresh air if needed to keep them going a couple more days. Tis quite funny. My garage thermometer gave up the ghost last night.

Starting to get some cirrostratus here now. Fire is laid and ready to light :)

updated warnings reflecting the widespread ice risk as well as snow.

Just off out the back to move some plants nearer the house and fleece up some more of my palms.

Dotty342kids · 04/02/2012 12:28

PeneloPeePitstop · 04/02/2012 12:32

Sparklingbrook · 04/02/2012 12:46

It's very stop/start here. Very unsatisfactory.

ajandjjmum · 04/02/2012 12:50

So what do you reckon about a lunchtime train journey from London to Sheffield tomorrow Kitten - will it happen?!!!! Probably the wrong sort of snow Grin

QED · 04/02/2012 12:50

There is something falling out of the sky near Ripon....

mankyscotslass · 04/02/2012 12:55

Met office have updated their warnings - We are now under the Amber alert here. Confused

Snow flakes getting larger/ heavier!

funkybuddah · 04/02/2012 12:57

I'm sorry to ask again oybbk but I'm at work. So hoping to be on train to Waterloo at 6:30ish back on 1:05am one?

Any ideas how heavy it will be there or does anyone commute and know what the trains are like that way in bad weather

Thanks :)

mankyscotslass · 04/02/2012 13:02

Large soft flakes now - off out to collect my glasses.

DS2 is at a party, DS1 has one to go to at 3 but that one is local, and DH is supposed to be gouing to the football.....

lubeybooby · 04/02/2012 13:03

Hatches all battened down here in preparation for the snow.

Leicestershire has light snow predicted from about 2pm then heavy snow after 5pm continuing til about midnight. I've been waiting for this for ages I'm so excited :o

Just been out and kicked over my 5ft water butt - it needed emptying and as it's frozen solid after the -8 temps last night I thought now would be a good time to avoid getting covered in manky pond water.

south345 · 04/02/2012 13:05

Nothing here yet (east yorks) but sky is getting whiter! Ds is so excited so I hope it does snow!

idontknowwhattodonnnnnn · 04/02/2012 13:11

still snowing in south wales and settling yippee

notveryinventive · 04/02/2012 13:15

south interesting that the sky is getting whiter in East Yorks, its still a dirty white over York. Doesnt even look like snow clouds (they are not white enough just yet) no doubt that will change in the next couple of hours.
