Animal Crossing Newbie- what do I need to know?

Ok just bought this for 'the kids' , what do I need to know, never played before.....
Any starters tips??

I'm finally at a point where I feel like I'm getting somewhere! Remembered to buy turnips this morning, now just need Leif to turn up to take all the bloody weeds off my hands. Flowers feel like they're everywhere and I have apple and coconut trees as well as the peaches. The island is full. I've built a playground.

What next? Fences? More flowers? Bridges and inclines are really bloody expensive!

Bridges and inclines are expensive but you need a certain number to get your 3 star rating. That creepy little wobbly guy is horrible though.

Boo. I'm 2* now so better start saving. Will buy some more turnips and hope for a good price to fund them!

I've promised the DTs I'll show them how to play later. I'm terrified they'll destroy my island 😂

Just went to talk to Isabelle and up to 3 stars with no bridges or inclines and KK Slider is coming, so it can't be a tick box exercise for stars.

Finally managed to wish on some stars and made my first wand!!

You all sound like experts.... DD’s been playing since Xmas, but now she’s scared to hit rocks because a red snake came out...? I didn’t see it and google isn’t helping. Anyone know what she’s found and how to deal with it?

If you ignore them they disappear otherwise you can catch it with a net
It will not attack or harm you
