I'll start!

B: bran sticks and oat milk, glass of OJ.
L: Hummus and tomato toastie.
D: Stir fry: pepper, courgette, onion, garlic, ginger, carrot and Quorn chicken-style pieces, noodles and lots of soy sauce. First time I've tried the chicken-style pieces; they were on offer. Nice and low cal/high protein, but nothing special in terms of taste.
Snacks: apple, banana, bombay mix.

Lol yes we do @PartTimeDomesticGoddess!!

DH got really into it when we watched the first Chef’s Table and read Dan Barber’s Third Plate (not for vegans but sustainable farming), we have a small electric mill and buy our wheat through a growers collective in our city (used to just get it on amazon) I. 25lb bags. It’s best to Use it as soon as it’s Milled because all the natural oils mean it can go rancid quickly but makes for super healthy flour that tastes amazing. It’s trial and error though because the bran content is high so normal recipes need some experimenting and tweaking.

FD for me yesterday too, got a vat of lentil soup out of the freezer and had that for lunch and dinner with some vodka on ice in the evening because frankly not drinking at the moment isn’t an option

Trying to do 2x “fast” days a week, used to do IF religiously and have struggled to get back into it but decided rather than counting the 500calories am just making a massive batch of lentil soup and having that for lunch and dinner twice a week seeing as it’s easy and I don’t have to think about it.

So today is lentil soup day! And lots of coffee. And I’ll probably have a handful of raspberries for an afternoon sugar hit

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 08/06/2020 21:57

Thank you @IJumpedAboardAPirateShip Smile. I could definitely do with getting back to 2 IF days a week, feel it's probably a couple of weeks away though
Last day of our long weekend off work today, which looked like

B; baked beans on toast with reggae sauce and nooch
L: slice of toast with half a pot of guacamole, beetroot, cherry tomatoes, 2 dates
D: Meera Sodha black bean noodles with cavolo Nero and tenderstem
S: small slice of birthday cake to finish it off

ppeatfruit · 09/06/2020 09:22

Ref. fasting. I mostly stop eating at 6pm and start at 9am (or when i feel hungry) Ref. Paul Mackenna.. I also have almost stopped eating normal sugar! (i put molasses in my gingerbread). As I get older it's harder to keep my figure as I like it!!

As you must have noticed I eat plenty of fruit and find it doesn't affect my weight. (As long as I eat it on an empty stomach).

B. apricots, soaked linseeds and figs 2 whole lemonsetc. Smoothie

L. leftover curry with whole rice and tahini dressing

D\S. half a pomelo and a cup of my smoothie.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 09/06/2020 15:27

I had noticed you eat a lot of fruit @ppeatfruit your day always sounds so delicious and healthy! I rarely eat breakfast just because I’m not hungry in the mornings but am terrible for mindless evening snacking. I enjoy IF when I can stick to it and I do try to to 16:8 most days just because my body feels better for it. As aware my needs will change as I get older so trying to break the bad habits of youth now rather than turn around at 50 and realise I got really fat without noticing!! But I also love to cook and eat and like to enjoy my food - I think not eating dairy anymore has made a massive difference to my health and figure for a start!

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 09/06/2020 21:39

I also love to cook and eat, am the sort of person who thinks about dinner all day/looks forward to meals
@ppeatfruit unless your portions are massive I find myself wondering how you consume enough calories. Does it leave you satisfied enough iyswim?

B: overnight oats, raspberries, mango, seeds, soya yogurt
L: Greek salad and pita bread, satsuma
D: blank bean chilli, rice, guacamole, sour cream, nooch, beetroot and Mexican Sweetcorn
S: handful of cashews, 2 dates and a couple of chunks of artichoke heart from the jar

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 10/06/2020 04:26

That sounds like a really good day @PartTimeDomesticGoddess!

Mid-morning snack: coffee, date, almond butter and banana smoothie
Lunch:tomato, palm heart and basil salad
Dinner: mushroom risotto
Snack: Hm popcorn

Errrr.....2xg&t and a vodka on the rocks Blush

ppeatfruit · 10/06/2020 09:09

Oh I don't count calories, never have ! Or none of that bonkers weighing food! I The Paul Mackenna I can Make you Thin way of eating is brillliant ( I think the title is stupid but the theory\practice is amazing) It is basically common sense , how children eat when left to themselves.
You eat whenever you're properly hungry, (not by the clock) BUT you stop when you're just full. you eat slowly, chewing and enjoying the tastes , NOT standing up or in front of a screen (to start with). The great thing is you can do it and go off it and on it as and when you want to.
So you learn to 'read' your body and accept it.
