I'll start!

B: bran sticks and oat milk, glass of OJ.
L: Hummus and tomato toastie.
D: Stir fry: pepper, courgette, onion, garlic, ginger, carrot and Quorn chicken-style pieces, noodles and lots of soy sauce. First time I've tried the chicken-style pieces; they were on offer. Nice and low cal/high protein, but nothing special in terms of taste.
Snacks: apple, banana, bombay mix.

Thanks for asking @MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1 a little but I think a cough is starting now which is pants. I can’t taste a thing which is even worse

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 10/02/2020 21:30

Back to intermittent (or at least some days of) fasting for me, meaning a 500 calorie day today

B: small cup of miso soup
L: lentil, rice and veg casserole
D: big bowl of cabbage, red pepper and some tofu simmered in veg stock with garlic, ginger and chilli. Added some miso at the end and then great coriander leaves

@IJumpedAboardAPirateShip hope your tastebuds return soon

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 11/02/2020 01:12

I really need to go back to IF too - but needed comfort food this last week! Might attempt it tomorrow if I plan properly

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 11/02/2020 06:06

@IJumpedAboardAPirateShip that's how I've felt all of January Blush
Have done IF for a couple of years but have only stopped eating eggs and fish a couple of months ago. Hopefully we can share some ideas Smile

3 oranges
2 hot honey and lemon drinks (2nd one with whisky)
Mock tuna chickpea and avocado salad
Tempeh chilli topped with mashed potato
Handful of cashews

jess3817 · 11/02/2020 18:23

2 coffees with soy creamer
Tea with oat milk
L: lettuce, kimchi and chickpeas
D: butternut squash, white bean and lentil soup
An orange (still trying to pump in as much VitC as poss)

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 11/02/2020 21:14

@IJumpedAboardAPirateShip yay, company for IF would be great Smile. Have you found vegan kimchi or do you make your own? Or are you plant based rather than vegan? I haven't quite decided what I am yet Grinbut I LOVE kimchi

Will fast again Thursday as I'm on a course for 2 days where lunch is provided, so today was:

B: porridge with sultanas, seeds and oat milk
L: nut roast, roast potatoes and parsnips, broccoli and carrots. And a chocolate cupcake (which I wouldn't have chosen, but they were so chuffed at presenting me with it I felt I had to eat it!)
D: black bean chilli, rice, guacamole and Bosh sour cream
S: 2 satsumas

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 11/02/2020 21:49

I buy kimchi, I live in LA where you can find vegan everything! I eat a vegan diet and buy cruelty free/vegan products and clothes but I wouldn’t call myself a true vegan because I fundamentally don’t have a problem with humans consuming animal products

I started a what did you eat today thread in IF board!

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 11/02/2020 21:50

Also that’s an amazing lunch, so nice they went to the effort!

SapatSea · 12/02/2020 10:14

PartTime is the sour cream nice? Is it made with vinegar and cashews etc?

Yesterday:
B: Frothy Oatly decaff cappucino and Pringles (hangs head in shame)
L: Beanburger, pink pickled onion, chilli jam
D: Roated Portobellos stuffed withgarlic and paxo, celeriac mash, green beans, peas, carrots, leeks

Today:
B: Redbush tea and a few biscuits, grapes
L: Butterbean, mushroom, spinach and rosemary stew, garlic ciabatta
D:Indonesian style (nasi goreng type) rice, lots of veg, tofu, nuts, kecap, lime etc.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 12/02/2020 14:52

What spices do you use for your rice @SapatSea ? Am going a tofu and veggies and rice something tomorrow and was just going to whip out the 5 spice but that sounds more interesting

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 12/02/2020 15:44

@SapatSea it wasn't unpleasant, but it wasn't that much like sour cream either. That is not necessarily the fault of the recipe though to be fair. No vinegar in the recipe, just half a lemon. I divided a 4 portion recipe to do it just for me and am not sure I put enough lemon in. It also wasn't really enough in my nutribullet so got spread around it, and wasn't as smooth as it should have been. It was more cheese flavoured than sour cream. I've found an internet recipe that sounds more promising to try next which uses lemon and vinegar. I think I might miss sour cream more than cheese, so oatly creme fraiche is okaaay but I'd like to find better.

Does anyone have a tried and tested recipe to share please?

jess3817 · 12/02/2020 16:24

Had porridge with pnb and banana.
Cous cous with rated veg, mixed salad and 2 ryvita thins with hummus.
2 apples.
Packed of walkers baked crisps - beetroot chilly flavour.
Making a lentil potatoe bake with greens and psb for dinner later.

jess3817 · 12/02/2020 16:28

roasted veg packet
🙈 sorry for the typos

dwum · 12/02/2020 17:10

@PartTimeDomesticGoddess here is the recipe I use. I love it!

Today I am eating chickpea sloppy joes

Can we please have a 'What I ate today' thread, vegan style?
SapatSea · 12/02/2020 18:19

dwum that looks easy. Does it taste good? Does it work with chilli?

PartTime I used to make a sambal base with red chillies, macadamia nuts, garlic, lemongrass and lime juice blitzed up but have started being lazy and now add the garlic in with the veg and add some kecap manis, lime juice, soy and a bit of tracklements chilli jam or sweet chilli sauce towards the end when tossing the rice but before the toasted cashew or peanuts and crsipy shallots. Works well. My Dp has sriracha on his as well.

dwum · 12/02/2020 18:47

It is so easy, and yes it does. It works with lots of stuff, I use it in wraps, salads, and nachos too. I always have a jar in the fridge as I make a batch weekly.

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 12/02/2020 21:17

@dwum thank you. I will give that a go at the weekend Smile
@SapatSea that sounds delicious. I haven't used kecap manis before, I think I'll get some

Today was:
B: porridge with sultanas, seeds and oat milk
L: some sort of spicy ratatouille and butter bean savoury crumble, served with new potatoes, cauliflower, green beans and Sweetcorn (day 2 of my course - reminded me that I like a savoury crumble and haven't cooked one for years)
D: hm lentil soup (lacking in flavour, need to practice!) with part baked crusty bread (buttered obvs) and some battered cauliflower chilli bites as we finished up the Christmas party food leftovers from the freezer
S: grapes, 2 satsumas, Brazil/cashew nuts

dwum · 13/02/2020 04:24

I couldn't sleep, and just bought a load of celery yesterday so have made 2 portions of black pepper celery and tofu, plus a batch of celery soup (with cashews for creaminess).

That should see me through the weekend 😎

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 13/02/2020 05:32

@PartTimeDomesticGoddess the crumble sounds good, not sure I’ve ever had a savoury crumble

Good job I fasted yesterday, got my period today and GORGED

B: two oranges and coffee
L: lentil tomato soup (2bowls), defrosted some cranberry and pear crumble that was in the fridge
S: cookie dough while making valentines cookies with DD, another orange, some crisps and garlic spread
D: tempeh chilli pie

cricketmum84 · 13/02/2020 08:52

B - satsumas and peppermint tea
L - leftover plant based mince keema madras with broccoli rice
D - H&B slim pasta with side salad

jess3817 · 13/02/2020 15:23

Noodle ginger chillie salad with carrot pepper and broccoli. Satsuma.
Packet of beetroot chillie crisps.
