In terms of housing. I live in the pretty part of a big Scottish city and you can get a 80 square meter 2 bed flat for that here.

Nothing at all, I live in the south east.

Nicelynicelyjohnson · 27/07/2026 18:29

You'd get a small two-bed terrace opening onto the street within a mile of my house.

If I extend to ten miles, you'd get a bog standard 3-bed semi (with terrible schools).

PShelp · 27/07/2026 18:29

In the naice bit, you'd get a nice Victorian conversion flat or a.terrace that needs work, or a nicer terrace the other side of the high street in a less desirable post code.

80 sqm, on the market for 675

ShanghaiDiva · 27/07/2026 18:31

An end of terrace that’s about 47 square metres. South west.

WTAFuuuuuck · 27/07/2026 18:32

1 bed apartment

emnetstrozzapreti · 27/07/2026 18:32

2 bed flat here, too. I'm assuming I'm in the same Scottish city as OP! 😄

Arlanymor · 27/07/2026 18:33

Three bed detached - not in my immediate area but elsewhere in the city. Sorry, edited to say that I'm in Abertawe/Swansea - I'm near the sea and the city centre, but it's a very spread out place in terms of how far the suburbs reach.

Nothing at all, I live in the south east.

I live in one of the most expensive commuter places and even we can rustle up a 1 bed apartment in a less nice area.

likelysuspect · 27/07/2026 18:34

3 bed semi, I live in the south east

Our house is a 3 bed semi, probably around 280ish I think.

User122333 · 27/07/2026 18:34

Lots of three bedroom detached new builds around 299-310k. But the schools are shite and the town is pretty rough. These houses are more like dormitory areas on the edge of town where ppl can get onto the motorway in a couple of minutes and go to school or work in the city.

NorrisToenail · 27/07/2026 18:34

3 bed 2 bath detached or 4 bed end of terrace.

citreous · 27/07/2026 18:36

4 bed detached, Humber region.

Trumpisacunt · 27/07/2026 18:37

4 bed detached or three bed in a better area

TheOcelot · 27/07/2026 18:38

Four bed detached. Also Humber area.

user5784352 · 27/07/2026 18:38

A really nice dinner with a few good bottles of wine 😂

More seriously, just did a search and I'd say 1-2 bedroom flats that make me depressed to think a human would have to live in them.

Jmaho · 27/07/2026 18:39

You'd just about get a 2/3 bed semi that needs work or a very small terraced house in one of the less nice roads. Other than that it'd be a coach house style flat.
But lovely village in Worcestershire with great schools

chemmie · 27/07/2026 18:40

London, a flat of some sort

MidnightPatrol · 27/07/2026 18:41

You can get a studio flat for £300k in my area.

Just!

Meadowfinch · 27/07/2026 18:42

Nothing. The closest is 4 miles away and is a 2 bed, 1 bath flat with one parking space.
