VB's dress on Mrs Burnham - horrible

I'm not a fashion expert and I really don't care much for it but this was the most horrible dress I have ever seen. Even on a coathangar bodytype like VB herself it wouldn't look good but on an average body it's just hideous. That's 850 £ unwisely spent. She could and should have gotten a dress from M&S for 50£ and actually looked good.

Which is just as tone-deaf, @Cheeseandolivesplease and @blossomtoes, as I said, a socialist couple in expensive designer clothes isn’t very socialist. If it had been gifted to her I’d understand, but if she/he (or they, as a couple) think £850 is a reasonable price for a dress then I’m already doubting their ‘man of the people’ status.

She’s a very successful and fairly wealthy woman in her own right. Do you really expect her to dress from Primark or as OP suggested M&S? She already had the dress. Buying new (if her wardrobe is fairly expensive to begin with) just to pose/appeal/play “one of us” for the masses would’ve been even worse, don’t you think?

Presumably she likes the dress and can afford it. Therefore it is 'worth it' to her.

What is the cut off point which a 'socialist' woman should pay for a dress in your view? If she had bought a dress in Jigsaw for, say, £100, what practical difference would that have made to anyone?

Corbyn owns a house in Islington, a pretty modest looking one. But it's in Islington, and that house accounts for the bulk of his fortune as far as I'm aware. Yes, a house in London is more than most have, but it's not exactly on a par with someone like Sunak for example.

What!She has a great figure.Actually thought she looked quite lovely.The icy blue was perfect for her colouring.I am a clothes designer myself but didn't know that it was a VB dress until the press releases.A bigger size wouldn't have fitted so well.We're all women here-tummies can fluctuate during the day.We can all relate to that surely.I'm really excited to see more of her outfits and of her.

Apparently she was keen to support british companies and so chose a dress from VB for this event and something from M&S for another. An admirable decision I think you'll all agree.
