VB's dress on Mrs Burnham - horrible

I'm not a fashion expert and I really don't care much for it but this was the most horrible dress I have ever seen. Even on a coathangar bodytype like VB herself it wouldn't look good but on an average body it's just hideous. That's 850 £ unwisely spent. She could and should have gotten a dress from M&S for 50£ and actually looked good.

I mean… slightly unflattering, but definitely not horrible or the most horrible dress you’ve ever seen , unless you never leave the house.

It’s actually quite a pretty dress, but I wouldn’t have the balls to wear it because of my tummy. If she doesn’t give a shit… more power to her.

And so it starts, women running other women down. Either because she wore VB (often hated on here) or because her dress didn’t fit, was the wrong colour…etc etc

Marie-France Van Heel looked perfectly ok. I admired her rather curvy shape and her confidence.

Thank goodness for not having to step into public life.

Her dress was dreadfully dull and creased. Instantly forgettable.

I thought she looked fine.The dress is better than some of the monstrosities I've seen recommended on MN S & B.

I was struck by how unflattering that dress was.

It didn't really suit her but it must be hard to choose a suitable dress to wear for such an occasion. I struggle to choose an outfit for a wedding with a year's notice!

No one in their right mind would wear a VB dress if they were going to get photographed by the worlds press, they don't look good on anyone.

Well I think the dress is a bit naff and surprised it cost that much, but I would have thought its more for a 'do' or a wedding party than something formal like this.

It didn’t do anything for her. No one is expecting her to be model like but whoever is advising her needs firing. She has daughters too and I wonder if they told her to go for it. It was clingy from the front and worse from the back.

Her name isn't Mrs Burnham.
She doesn't need to look good. Just vaguely appropriate.

I hope she wont take any advice. I would want her to continue wearing what she likes and not give a damn about anyone else.

Yep, it’s not my favourite but bravo to her for showing the merest hint of a little tiny tum.

But what I want to know is, what was the floor length navy dress Victoria Starmer wore? It was rather grand.

For fuck's sake. She is wearing a dress that's formal and a nice colour and which isn't a sack used to cover up her perfectly normal, wonderful, brilliantly functioning body. It's just so awful to ask if she's pregnant, as if it's absolutely any of your business.

What happened to being kind, to helping other women etc etc.

Ofcourse none of us have perfect bodies. I don't. That's why I said that only a coathangar could wear it (and I still think it's horrible) - it's def not made for a normal woman who actually eats food which might not come as a surprise since it's VB. But to pay 850£ for the shite..

Well as long as she likes it and feels good in it, that’s all that matters!

I agree OP, it’s monstrously unflattering. She’s an attractive woman with a good figure, and I think it was a strange choice.

Let’s normalise not asking if every woman who isn’t as flat as an ironing board is pregnant. Women natural have more fat around their stomachs to protect their reproductive organs. It’s a biological fact.

Sorry I don't get it. The dress was not a good fit. It wouldn't have been for me either. Not for anyone I know except teen niece. So I am "bitching" about a dress not being flattering to the majority of women. If anything I'm being critical of VB and her design.
