VB's dress on Mrs Burnham - horrible

TheBlueKoala · 20/07/2026 19:42

I'm not a fashion expert and I really don't care much for it but this was the most horrible dress I have ever seen. Even on a coathangar bodytype like VB herself it wouldn't look good but on an average body it's just hideous. That's 850 £ unwisely spent. She could and should have gotten a dress from M&S for 50£ and actually looked good.

I liked her dress. She has also had a double mastectomy so, I think, showed style and beauty continues after treatment …

TheStateOfThat · 20/07/2026 20:35

Although some of us might not like to have looked how she did in the dress, she presumably thought she looked good as she wore it, so hopefully she won’t care what anyone else thinks. When I think I look good, if someone else said I didn’t, it wouldn’t bother me.

Ugly ugly thread

Came here to say this.

Why are we calling her "Mrs Burnham" when that's not her name OP?

I think OP may be quoting the headline in the linked article, but yep, gross. Akshata Murty used to get it too, and Miriam Gonzalez Durantez. Women's names are just far too complicated, it seems. Better to call them something that isn't their name, just to be safe.

VividDeer · 20/07/2026 20:36

Its at least a size too small and needs shapewear. Feel bad for her its been plastered everywhere

Pplareasthickasshit · 20/07/2026 20:27

You're kidding right? Men say some of the nastiest things you could ever imagine about women. Ageist misogynistic rants. So it's even more important that women don't do the same.

I agree, and it's awful that a woman can't be woman shaped. She's in her 50s and had three children, it's like a crime that any of that shows on her body.
I watched the whole thing and in all honesty was more focused on the whole transition and what AB had to say.

Nanda66 · 20/07/2026 20:36

Gosh, I thought she looked great, happy and confident. I didn’t really like the colour, but that’s not about her, that’s just my preference. i’d no idea it was Victoria Beckham.

What a load of rubbish. Poor woman. Let's hope going forward, she is able to find a safe and reasonably flattering style for herself

Maybe she’s not that bothered about finding a ‘safe flattering style’ ( in your view)
She’s intelligent and has a life .

Women can be men shaped as well…..Andy told us that.

Isn’t it just?

Ofcourse none of us have perfect bodies. I don't. That's why I said that only a coathangar could wear it (and I still think it's horrible) - it's def not made for a normal woman who actually eats food which might not come as a surprise since it's VB. But to pay 850£ for the shite..

Oh a post for dragging other women, nice. In that case;

"Of course" is two words.

You put coats on hangers and aircraft in hangars.

Ms van Heel studied at Cambridge, perhaps she's literate at least.

It's so depressing, it doesn't matter what a woman achieves. It's all about how she looks.

LilyBunch25 · 20/07/2026 20:39

I don't believe she calls herself Mrs. Burnham.

My goodness women should be standing up in solidarity with her not freaking knocking her

Ihateknowingthis · 20/07/2026 20:39

She can wear whatever she likes.... but this doesn't flatter her at all.
Too small, too expensive for the look, and a poor fit.
I did read that she has had a double mastectomy but this dress did her no favours... maybe somebody will take her in hand and help her show herself at her best.

I see some bigger ladies that look fab cos they know what to wear.

Delphiniumandlupins · 20/07/2026 20:24

You don't need to rate her prettiness either.

I think it’s fine. My only criticism is that it looks a bit hot for this weather. Well too hot for where I am at least.

Women really like to insult women. What about the PM’s attire? Any criticism? Thought not.

To be fair I’ve heard more comment about Andy Burnham’s clothes than I have any other PM. About his T shirts and in recent weeks that he was wearing something expensive from a Manchester brand.

Areyoumouldy · 20/07/2026 20:40

I think it’s sad that a woman gets pulled apart based on what she is wearing by a bunch of anonymous women on the internet. Does tearing someone down push you up?

NorthXNorthWest · 20/07/2026 20:40

TheStateOfThat · 20/07/2026 20:37

Women can be men shaped as well…..Andy told us that.

This is a valid reason to critisise someone not the dress they are wearing.

LilyBunch25 · 20/07/2026 20:40

I find it really depressing when women put other women down or jump on how they look. Isn't it bad enough we have the media and a lot of men doing it?

I'm talking about Ms Van Heel in the context of this thread. Not anything her husband has said. That's irrelevant to my point.

MissFancyDay · 20/07/2026 20:31

Yes they did get similar, which was all fair and good. We just weren't all told off about it.

Yes there was a thread when Sunak resigned re her dress, and Carrie Johnson’s outfits. Sadly

Angela Rayner had awful fashion sense as well.

“had” ?
Are you saying she no longer does?

She looked nice imo not that that is what matters .
