What do you think of Tarot card readings and similar?

I went to a 'psychic medium' yesterday who was highly recommended by close people I know.

I'm not sure if they were tarot cards or another type of cards. I picked 8 cards, she talked through them. They had relevance to my life but I am skeptical and think that any card could have been twisted to fit my life. She asked a lot of leading questions and I feel like I filled a lot of gaps for her.

My DH saw her separately and thought she was brilliant and bought every word she said. Thought she knew a lot about his life and past and believes every word she said about his future.

What do you think? I'm intrigued because so many friends have totally bought into it.

TBF to @Justmerach, I know the Bible pretty well as an ex Christian, and Justmeach is far from the only Christian I have come across that can read the exact same passage as me and come to a completely and utterly different conclusion to what it means than I do,

I read the words as they are written in black and white, and I take them to mean what they are written as, if that makes sense. I come across very few devout Christians who can do that. And the more devout they are, the wilder their interpretation.

But yeah. I do get to the point where I can't be bothered trying to get a straight answer from them on the Bible.

Sometimes in interactions with you have not stated your question directly. I was summing up what I thought that you were getting at.
To make it clear. I think that God does not create evil and God does good. Choices can be made that are against God's intentions. God knows that people can be tested, but will provide a way for them to escape this if overwhelmed. Jesus provides people with a way to cope in the modern world with affrications which is the Holy Spirit.
I knew the meaning of both of those scriptures and didn't think that they contradicted each other.

I hear you, but I'm not really talking about interpretation, more the basic knowledge that God didn't sit down with a quill and write the Bible, basics of roughly the dating of the manuscript fragments that exist, the different genres and languages involved, the development of early Christianity out of Second Temple Judaism, the various battles about what biblical texts were in or out of different sects' canons etc etc. I mean, if you don't know what you're reading, how can you interpret it?

The information in the links if you read them was fine if you knew the subject which I do. What they wrote was in line with gospel coalition and other credible sources

What you have written seems to be about another thread. The thread was on scripture and was aimed at those in the Abrahamic faiths to discuss scripture. It couldn't fit all. There was not many Christian posters and it was taken off topic many times. I did respond to how the Bible was written and never suggested what you seem to suggest. Sources was posted how Bible inconsistencies can be understood. The other things may have come up or not been relevant to the argument which was about scripture in the Bible about Jesus Christ being the Son of God.
