The case of Elisa Lam fascinates me.

vigilantcitizen.com/vigilantreport/mysterious-case-elisa-lam/

The poor girl obviously went through "something" before her death. She was found in the rooftop water tank above a LA hotel. Her clothes were never found, the CCTV is creepy and her family will likely never have the answers :(

What do you make of it? Any mysteries that also fascinate you?

The two children were two separate children, two separate stories.

The Bobby Dunbar story is one, and the other one I can't recall right now because I have read so many of these stories over the past few days I can't remember which one is which.

Thank you.
More links and stories please :-)

Was the other one Paul Fronczak, who was kidnapped as a newborn and then 'found' again as an abandoned toddler and returned to his parents?

He is now middle aged and had a DNA test a few years ago which revealed that he is not the 'real' Paul Fronczak.

What happened to Andrew Gosden? Why did he go to London? Why did he refuse a return ticket despite the fact that he took so few belongings with him?

I think he did plan to come back, but not by train. I can't think of any other reason why such a sensible boy wouldn't take any clothes with him. Well I can think of one reason (suicide), but I really hope that this wasn't the case.

There is also the Springfield Three. A mother, her 18yo daughter and her daughter's friend just vanished from the house one night. No sign of a struggle apart from one smashed lightbulb on the porch.

This happened on the early 90s iirc and there has been literally no trace of them since.

An interesting footnote is that a pyschic said that the three women were buried underneath the car park of a local hospital. This car park was under construction at the time of the disappearance.

An expert who scans underground to look for bodies, who worked in the 9/11 wreckage came to the car park and found three possible graves. The families were keen to have them checked and the hospital had no objection to this, but the police said no. They said it was too expensive. The expert said he just needed to drill a small core down to one of the possible graves to be able to check it out. He said it wouldn't be expensive at all. Various wellwishers offered to pay the small cost, but the police still said no.

That is strange Cheshire. Who could those children have been, for their identities to have been so important a secret, re last paragraph of linked article?

The only thing I can think of is Royalty but...that is beyond unlikely and I don't think the proposed ages match any major members of the royal family of the time.

jammytoast · 27/09/2014 07:35

Perhaps they were illegitimate children of a well known rich person, hidden previously but mayne being sent to a relative or off to school (I think there was school uniform found too.)

And then when the crash happened, they couldn't be claimed because that would defeat the purpose of hiding them in the first place.

jammytoast · 27/09/2014 07:37

YY the other was Paul Fronczac.

FannyFifer · 27/09/2014 08:56

Place marking, the lift video gives me the heebies.

GimmeMySquash · 27/09/2014 11:11

My guess was the children on the train's Mother didn't want the public to know for some reason.

HangingBasketCase · 27/09/2014 11:40

The Andrew Gosden case is really disturbing. If he was planning to run away then why didn't he take any belongings with him? My gut feeling is that he was lured to London by someone he'd met online and then abducted.

Often wonder about him

HPparent · 27/09/2014 12:02

Re the children on the train perhaps they were illegitimate kids of a pillar of society and fostered or illegally adopted out?

HPparent · 27/09/2014 12:06

Just found this thread again after spending most of my spare time this week reading about the Sodder family mystery on WS. God that's sad. I felt almost desperate by the end of reading all the threads about it, for that poor 3 yr old who survived, who is still alive today. On one of the threads, there was the grandson or great grandson of the Sodders who had gained permission a few years ago from the current landowners where the Sodder house stood, to have an archeological dig done. And then it was never mentioned on the threads again, apart from a couple of times when someone wondered if it had been done.

Why hasn't it been done? If it has, why haven't we heard about it? The threads on WS span about 10 years and then...nothing... Frustrating for me, but I can't imagine how much more frustrating for the family, to never know what really happened.

impatienceisavirtue · 27/09/2014 14:25

Horrific for the families of those who were never found - can't imagine what every day must be like for them wondering

RumPunch · 27/09/2014 16:27

What sort of e-mail address do you need to join Websleuths? It won't let me join with mine Sad

HPparent · 27/09/2014 16:53

LumpenproletariatAndProud · 28/09/2014 11:45

I know this one is probably a hoax but whether its the actual guy himself or someone on the wind up, Im not sure?

Either way, it freaked me out.

IceCreamAngel · 28/09/2014 12:19

Has anyone on here heard of John Titor? If not then Google him, a very interesting story. He was a man who appeared on several internet message boards in the early 2000's claiming to be a time traveller from the year 2036, he made many predictions about what would happen in the future before suddenly disappearing altogether. It's widely believed he was a hoaxer, but attempts to trace the hoaxer over the years have drawn a blank.

Blueandwhitelover · 28/09/2014 13:02

I've been spending ages on the Sharon Marshall threads as well as a perusal of cold cases on there. Where do all these people go? Given the amount of cases you would imagine people would be finding remains every time they go to the forest.

LoonytoadQuack · 28/09/2014 18:59

I'm a total sceptic but the John Titor story had me riveted, although I knew it would turn out to be a hoax! Clever though.

PamShoo · 28/09/2014 21:20

Brrrr, the dead girlfriend on Facebook one is scary!
