The case of Elisa Lam fascinates me.

vigilantcitizen.com/vigilantreport/mysterious-case-elisa-lam/

The poor girl obviously went through "something" before her death. She was found in the rooftop water tank above a LA hotel. Her clothes were never found, the CCTV is creepy and her family will likely never have the answers :(

What do you make of it? Any mysteries that also fascinate you?

Having spent half an hour reading the Johnny Gosch case I can't decide what I believe. On the one hand organised gangs of important pedophiles (government, celebrities) seems far fetched, then you step back and look at where we are now and really do wonder.

BornOfFrustration · 24/09/2014 14:37

I read the book Ben Needham mum wrote recently, the police really let them down.

flipsahoy · 24/09/2014 14:48

Shamelessly place marking :)

misstiredbuthappy · 24/09/2014 15:01

I know sister thats what I though.

It frustrates me how Ben Needhams family have been treated, whereas MM's parents seem to have had lots of help and support.

Ill leave it there. Its another subject entirely Hmm

Shiongmaoniao · 24/09/2014 15:06

thanks for this thread tho i do fear my computer may blow up with the amount of windows open

TessOfTheFurbyvilles · 24/09/2014 15:17

Ben Needham was the son of a working class single mother, of course the media and Government didn't (and largely still don't) give a damn!

ChristinaYang · 24/09/2014 15:20

Well that's been a productive morning in work ... Wink

The video of the lift had me scared and I actually felt a bit sick watching it. Fascinated by the Taman Shud mystery and the poor Sodder family! Must check out WebSleuths.

Greyhound - presume you think parent(s)?

VivaLeBeaver · 24/09/2014 15:26

The zodiac killer is another interesting one. The film is fascinating.

Alisvolatpropiis · 24/09/2014 15:36

I love these threads

ChubbyKitty · 24/09/2014 15:37

May I just mark a little place here?

Fascinating thread but I want to wait til I've been for a shower and I'm with another person before looking at anything scary. Particularly anything to do with attics. Our attic door is right outside the bathroom.

I can understand a child disappearing slightly more. After all they’re smaller, less likely to fight back, may not understand the danger they’re in till too late, possibly easier to influence. And they are going to change as they grow (if they’re alive).

It’s when you hear of adults that just seem to fall of the face of the earth. Fiona Pender is one that I always remember, she was 25, 7 months pregnant, no signs of unhappiness, just here one minute gone the next. And Deirdre Jacob disappeared at 3pm within yards of her parent’s home. There is a suspect, but no sign of any of them or their bodies has ever been found.

I joined WS. Damn you all I have an ironing pile!! 2 more intriguing cases for you...

THE SCHUESSLER-PETERSON MURDERS

and the possibly linked

FAREWELL TO THE GRIMES SISTERS

Coumarin · 24/09/2014 16:26

There's some really badly written blogs (?) out there.

Coumarin · 24/09/2014 16:28

That sounded ungrateful sorry, thank you for the links. Still interesting cases.

Blueandwhitelover · 24/09/2014 16:37

Oh no, I literally thought I'll do the ironing after I just check MN for the spooky thread, now I have five windows open and no ironing board up!

Whoever said she could be sleep walking, it does look that way doesnt it? I wonder if it was considered as a theory? Though I presume she would wake up when she hit the water.

Yesx Irelands Vanishing triangle where loads of woman disappeared in the 90 s

Annie McCarrick, disappeared 1993. A 26 year old American student living in Sandymount, she was last seen outside Johnny Fox's Pub in Glencullen, County Dublin.[5]
Eva Brennan, 40. She disappeared in 1993. After leaving her parents house to return to her apartment she was never seen again.
Imelda Keenan, 22. Originally from Mountmellick, Co. Laois, Imelda disappeared on 3 January 1994 with the last confirmed sighting of her being in Lomarard Street, Waterford.[6]
Josephine (JoJo) Dollard, 21,[7] disappeared 1995. Vanished in the Moone area while hitch-hiking home from Dublin to Kilkenny one night; a witness saw her using a payphone. She was never seen again.
Ciara Breen, 18, went missing in 1998 from the Dundalk area
Deirdre Jacob, 18, vanished without trace just yards from her parents home as she walked home in 1998. This particular case is often said to be the most puzzling as the girl was almost home, passing motorists witnessed the girl approaching within yards of her parents drive-way, but for some reason, she never made it to her house. No trace has ever been found.
Fiona Pender, 25, stepped out of her flat one evening in 1996 and was never seen again. Fiona was seven months pregnant when she disappeared.
Fiona Sinnott, 19. In 1998 she was last seen leaving a pub in Broadway, County Wexford.

I still dont understand why the lift only shuts after she walks away ...it stays open a very long time, even when she isnt standing in the door sensors.
