Do you think Harry can be deported from the United States?

The Heritage foundation wants details about Harry's status.

Anyway his wife and kids are American, any immigration lawyer worth their salt will do wonders with that.

I’ve been through the immigration process, it doesn’t work like that.

All I’m saying is that he was daft to talk so openly about the drug-taking, because it makes him vulnerable to this type of attack. Going forward, he should be more careful, he doesn’t have protected status/people to shield him now.

tatalan · 22/03/2023 13:08

@HamBone as I've said earlier he's not the first, neither will he be the last Brit to talk about drug use and still be resident in the US lol

It'll be something else next week.

Exactly, if people don’t like him, they’ll find something! In his shoes though, I wouldn’t offer them anything on a plate.

tatalan · 22/03/2023 13:17

@HamBone he may not care, probably thinks if it wasn't this, it'd be something else.

I think this is precisely why they should live their lives to suit them and the children. Whatever the consequences (or not) it's their life.

Does he have a criminal record with drugs offences? As that is what would exclude him from being eligible for a visa, not claims by the media.

Tbf it wasn't claims by the media, he actually spewed that rubbish himself both in interviews and in his book.

When did Harry say he had a criminal record with drug offences?

@PreparationPreparationPrep Meghan and the children can certainly do what they like, they’re fine. When you’re a guest in another country though, you’re well-advised to tread carefully as you don’t have the same rights, IYSWIM.

If he doesn’t care, that’s up to him, I suppose. 🤷

tatalan · 22/03/2023 13:35

@HamBone H&M have mostly said they loved America and found peace here tbh, it's just the drugs bit lol

Not on the basis of a freedom of information request, but, but but... this is bringing to the attention of the american people that he has probably lied on his visa application and even if he hasn't he has been given undue leniency. This will piss off the egalitarian americans (quite rightly) who don't believe in the right of celebrities/royals to be above the law.

Harry with his clear message on Dr Mate's program, that drugs are a legitimate way to unblock mental anguish, should STFU and think first. He and Meghan have tried to interfere in american politics with their attack on the fifth amendment, and to promote drug taking in a country with a widespread drug problem, is playing with fire.

I said this weeks ago and was laughed at. I'll say it again, if he comes to the coronation he may not get back into america.

purpledalmation · 22/03/2023 20:49

mind you, it will be fun to see Harry trying to sue the homeland security or the immigration office of america demanding to be let back in/stay in america!

LakeTiticaca · 22/03/2023 07:36

No let them keep him. We don't want him back 😉😉

Speak for yourself. I'm sick of the pathetic hysteria around him and his wife.

tatalan · 22/03/2023 21:50

Someone please update this thread when the FOIA request is back.

Don't you think normal honest Americans who do their best to keep their kids away from drugs and doctors who warn about the dangers of them will be a bit pissed off that a foreign national may have lied on his visa application, preaches on the benefits of mind altering drugs and uses his royal status to override American laws?

Let's see if they find out, apparently a US State Department spokesman said: ‘Visa records are confidential under Section 222(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA); therefore, we cannot discuss the details of individual visa cases’.

It's interesting, I heard Nigella Lawson got her visa delayed for a couple of weeks due to admitted drug use but got it in the end.

OP posts:
tatalan · 23/03/2023 09:07

@purpledalmation I do think it was extremely irresponsible for Harry to speak about mind altering substances in that regard. Even in the context that it's done under the guidance of a trained physician was dangerous.

purpledalmation · 23/03/2023 09:17

Sadly, I think it's an indictment of Harry's level of entitlement, of his family's ability over the years to cover up his mistakes (as opposed to feeding stories to the media, as he alleges), his mental agility and his utter indifference or ignorance of what 'normal' people have to live with.

wordler · 23/03/2023 11:19

So I expect Harry’s ‘out’ in this case - and US immigration’s ‘out’ for not having given Harry special treatment is that there’s no ‘official’ proof of Harry’s drug use prior to entering the US. (And he’s only participated in legal drug use since entering the US)

Yes - it’s in the book but it’s possible to make that up for entertainment purposes or exaggerated by the ghostwriter etc. Harry can say yes I lied but not to you Mr immigration Official - I lied in my book.

Nigella Lawson had problems because she admitted her drug use in a UK court case under oath the week before she flew to the US. She was refused entry and allowed to apply for a waiver to enter at a later date.

What's wrong with Canada? Apart from being Woke Central. But that should suit them.

Much less likely to be shot for no apparent reason. And you'd be a bigger celeb ?

googlejourney · 23/03/2023 11:31

I think the American people are due answers to how transparent he was on his application. And I'm glad people are asking questions.

.....but No, he won't actually be deported.

I wonder if Meghan's getting tired of this buffoon she's married to yet?

HamBone · 23/03/2023 12:44

Harsh words, @purpledalmation, but I think you’re right. Meghan and the children can say whatever they like, but as a guest in another country, he needs to be more careful and think before he speaks, because he has no special protections/status in the US.

Nothing will come of this current hoo-ha, but he’d be wise to take note. 🤷

People = Heritage Foundation. Americans didn't care about the Ed Sheeran's and Ozzy's, I don't think most genuinely care about Harry like that.

I would imagine lots of American parents don't welcome a foreigner coming into their country and getting a platform to say how great illegal drugs are. Hell I'm in the UK bringing up a teenage GC and I don't welcome it, who should GC believe about drug use? Old gran or the royal ex soldier with the big platform? Do I stand a chance?
