There is precisely nothing that is not Meghan's fault according to some people.
From climate change, to war in Ukraine, to the Traitors not being as good as it was last year, as well as everything else in between, it's all the fault of Meghan.

I'm not particularly a fan. Just fed up of the constant, nonsensical attacks on her character.

You are defending her against attacks that are not being made. People are merely saying she should not have sat on these suspicions without ensuring that action was taken.

Yes it does seem that way. It seems quite possible that MM decided to distance from her father because of his behaviour pre-wedding (I remember his interview and how chilling he was), was considering reconciling and then learned of these allegations and pulled back. There are also plenty of people who dont find their parents safe around their children who do not suspect their parents of being pedophiles.

Something crossed my mind. There was alleged concern about "how dark" young Archie would be. How ironic that the poor boy has total white trash for a grandfather.

It goes without saying that if what is being said is true, then TM is the worse person in all of this.

I don't hate Meghan (I've never even posted here before) but the letter issue is off for many reasons.

It's likely of course that there is whole lot we don't know. But as things stand it seems lots of people knew about this 7 years ago and then allowed TM to live in countries where the abuse of children by foreign men is a known issue.

Genuinely asking - how could you stop someone going to live abroad? I know some countries, like Australia, have laws about sexual abuse which takes place in other countries, but unless the perpetrator comes back to your country, how do you prosecute this?

That's a very distasteful comment.

If the original accusations had been properly investigated then he presumably would not have been able to move abroad. Or at the very least the authorities in those countries should have been informed. Neither of those things appear to have happened. That's my point.

The Met appear to be the main issue, but if I had been in Meghan's position I would have asked about the outcome of any investigation after 2019. But perhaps she did. We will.never know.

I am not sure where he was when the allegations came up. Seems like there would be a massive difference between whether he had been in the US or UK, and if he was in Mexico.

She has said that she kept her own children away from her father to protect them from him. By her own admission she knew he was likely a danger to children, but she did not ensure he was stopped.
She has said she assumed the police were dealing with it, so it very much sounds as though she didn’t follow it up.
Maybe she did follow it up though, yeah. I hope she did.
Nothing is 100 per cent certain at the moment - TM might not be guilty, MM might have been chasing resolution to this matter night and day since 2019, alternatively she might have tried to get it covered up. Who knows?

It would have been on any investigating police forces to ensure he was "stopped" .

You are aware Meghan does not work in law enforcement? You seem to be speaking about her as if she needs to be the one to single handedly arrest him and put him in jail.

We have no idea what conversations she had with the met. You seem to be thinking Meghan needs to be the one to direct the police to do their job then the actual police themselves.

She can't just phone up, ask for an update snd he's immediately going to be arrested.

And again, how do you know that she didn’t? I’m no MM fan but seeing the knots the likes of you get into trying to make it her fault makes me much more sympathetic towards her.

This is exactly how I've found myself sympathetic and posting in her defence. I really could not care less about the British royals but this witch hunt and the sheer determination to make EVERYTHING her fault is so upsetting to me.

It is insidious and I feel like some people will not stop until she takes her own life.

She could have asked for an update asking whether the relevant authorities had been informed so that they could take the appropriate action.

No one is trying to make everything her fault.

You can only speak for yourself.

Maybe take a hop onto some other sites and see what people are saying. The particularly crazed has gone so far as to imply any children TM may have abused since 2019 is her fault.

Adaira45 · Yesterday 11:38

Heyelpheyelp · Yesterday 11:31

She could have asked for an update asking whether the relevant authorities had been informed so that they could take the appropriate action.

But they should already have been taking appropriate action and if not then it needs to be investigated as to why not.

And I'm fairly certain any investigation would find fault with the actual police themselves rather than place the blame on people outside the system on not following up on investigations if that was the case.

And this is hearsay because we don't actually know if the Meghan conversations with the police but if she did it's beside the point. The police have their own protocols for dealing with this.

This is so stupid it has to be a wind up. But on the off chance you are serious - are you saying this about everyone estranged from a family member who has committed a sex offence? In which case you are ridiculous. Or just this woman? In which case your hatred is skewing your view.

No she isn't responsible and it's a complete insult to suggest otherwise. What effort was she have to made?

We have agencies in place who are tasked with investigating, sharing information and protecting the public. Meghan did not work for any of these agencies. She was assured by the Met, the letter containing concerns would be dealt with. It was their responsibility then to act on it and share if appropriate with the relevant authorities.

If these agencies have not done what they were meant to do, then they need to be held to account and investigations need to be carried out IF processes were not followed. There is absolutey no legal process that would find Meghan in anyway responsible for the abuse of children.

It wasn't meant to be taken literally.
And thanks for letting us know that Meghan is part of a group of international crime fighters with powers to act over multiple jurisdictions.

Fact is, we don't know what Meghan did or didn't do or even if there was anything she could have done.

I honestly bet it's the same people arguing that Harry and Meghan shouldn't get state funded security (which for arguments sake I don't think they should either) and hammering home the point how the Royal Family should not be involved in matters of state security are now arguing Meghan - a private citizen - can somehow influence and dictate police operations spanning multiple counties, to be briefed on these police operations on an estranged family members, has the ability to get allegations covered up and by phoning up the Met to ask if a letter had been sent on would have the ability to "stop" her father from committing further alleged offences.

"If TM has abused any children since 2019 then MM is partially responsible for this, yes"

There's nothing more to be said after you posted that.

Anyone who can say something so ludicrous is not posting in good faith and is motivated by blind hate, not logic.

I don’t hate MM, but I am disgusted that she suspected her father was a child abuser yet she did not ensure he was prevented from abusing children.

It's ridiculous too because people make these statements thinking their on the side of justice and victims but they aren't. It places less blame and responsibility on the ones who allegedly are committing these horrific crimes and the ones who are actually tasked on acting on these claims and detracts from any failures to protect vulnerable children.

It is possible to cast blame on the people committing the crimes, the people that should have been acting on them but didn’t AND the people who knew but who did nothing to ensure that action was being taken. They are all at fault, some more than others of course, but all of them failed in their moral duty to protect innocent children from harm.

Why dont you spell out exactly what she should have done, and explain how you know for sure she did not take any action?

Because what you are saying is ridiculous. And offensive to anyone unfortunate enough to find themselves related to someone who has committed a sex crime.
