A letter will be found I’m sure, whether that letter is genuinely from 2018 or hastily written up today under orders we will never know.

Hope they don't save it on Word if it's the latter.

If there was a letter I regard it as much more likely that she was briefed by an officer of appropriate rank, given the letter to read and a copy to keep.

Perhaps when MM says she saw a letter she means a printout from Interpol's I-24/7 communication system.

I doubt any official communications would be shared with someone who did not have security clearance. My guess, and it's only a guess, is that she may have been briefed on the allegations but not given access to any written communication between agencies.

Any statements from the FBI? surely they need to release a statement, is TM under arrest?

Orders from whom? I doubt the Met will be inclined to falsify a letter

Thanks @TheTwerkingDuchessOfMonteshitshow I had no idea the health care was so bad there!

It’s a very poor country. It’s reflected in everything. The health service is at a grass roots level and most of the money is spent in places like Manilla so very little reaches health facilities in the provinces.

Had I not gone my lovely lady friend woukd have probably died in the village on the floor and in horrible pain. They do have hospices but we weren’t near one and I believe there are teams that go into homes and provide palative care but we weren’t near it either even though we were only 2 hours by road out of Manila. We were close to where the big American naval base had been so not out in the backwaters. I took a house for house on a compound where Japanese people who’d settled in the Phillipines lived. It was the oncologist who found it for us as he had patients there and the nurses at the little private clinic would administer pain relief injections. The oncologist would visit every couple of days but it was at a price and I don’t know how any ordinary Phillipino would have afforded it. It was an eye opener.

So if the Met never investigated, does that mean that M is mistaken in remembering that she was told they would?

The Met would not be investigating TM. He isn't British, committed no crimes in Britain or British territories (that we know of). At best, MM meant the Met told her that they had been informed relevant (foreign) authorities were dealing with it.
At worst, she's made the whole thing up.
I can't stand her or Harry. But i really hope she hasn't made it up or the press will crucify her.

Yes quite - I would doubt that as well. There would be no coming back if an obvious lie had been told of this nature.

There's a reason Meg has admitted she was aware of the allegations in 2018. She could have said otherwise. Just issued a statement saying she was horrified by the allegations and leave it at that. There must be concrete evidence somewhere that she was fully aware of allegations.

Doesn't explain her daft husband's comments in 2022 about her father though

I'm worried she hurriedly grasped the opportunity to give a very good reason for having been NC with her father for so long. I'm worried that she issued a statement without thinking it through. Not unusual for her.
Have the Philippino police issued a statement? Or the FBI? If no authorities have issued a statement that they are investigating then it doesn't look great for MM and TMJr.

bluegreygreen · 23/10/2026 16:17

Starryfifty · 23/10/2026 15:53

The MET have to go rummaging for a letter ?? No photocopies or above standard filing system for such important documents? The whole thing is a farce

It’s a holding statement.

It is relatively quick and easy to find documents that exist - even if they have been archived somewhere after 8 years.

It is a little less straightforward to comment on one that may not exist.

(In my opinion, and I may be wrong.)

Candleabra · 23/10/2026 16:18

So Meghan is saying that someone (who?) sent the Met police a letter in 2018 which they then shared with her?
But there were no criminal investigations in Britain (as TM is a US citizen) and Meghan assumed the someone (who?) was dealing with this in America.
But if no charges were brought (which I assume they weren’t as it would have been public knowledge), then Meghan was aware TM was free to do as he pleased - and although she was “disturbed” did nothing to chase them up and instead provided a completely different narrative for the estrangement?

And the fact she relentlessly reiterated the fact she cut him off for selling stories to the press (while herself & her money grabbing side kick peddled dirty lies about the Royal Family)

The Philippino police have issued a statement to say they are investigating the allegations.

As for Meghan, she is obsessed with 'clapping back' and never thinks anything through, so what you say may be correct.

I suspect, but who knows, that she likely was told of the allegations in some form 8 years ago. I doubt there is a 'letter' however. And if indeed she was made aware of the allegations, why did she put forward a fake version of events to explain their estrangement? Like I said above, she doesn't owe anyone an explanation of her family relationships, so could just have refused to discuss her relationship with any of the Markles. But that's not her style, is it?

And will he represent himself when he sues RF when titles are removed ?

Isn't there some sating about A man who represents himself in court has a fool for a client, I paraphrase. Sounds very true in H's case.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 23/10/2026 16:30

And if indeed she was made aware of the allegations, why did she put forward a fake version of events to explain their estrangement?

If I was estranged from DF because he was accused of CSA, I'd not be admitting it, especially if I'd just married into the RF. She couldn't have foreseen that this would blow up eight years later. She has not improved matters by leaping in with her statement, though.

You know the internet -there'd be any number of people ready to say how she MUST have known he was an abuser.

I'm not saying she should have gone public with the allegations against him.

I'm saying she should simply not have discussed her relationship with her father. She's not obliged to do so. There was no need for her to come up with this ongoing narrative about how they fell out over him selling stories about her. She could just have done what other royals do and not enter into public discussions about family matters. But like I say, that's not her style as she always has to get her version across. It's not a policy which has served her well over the years, to put it mildly.

I agree she shouldn’t have made a statement so soon. It’s just invited more specifically.

They'd position it as another institutional stitch-up, like the one that lost H the DM hacking case.

Archie M-W was born on 6 May 2019.

MM’s letter to her father was dated 27 August 2018. She may, perhaps, have just learned a baby was on the way? She didn’t have a child “to protect” at that point.

The one thing I'd defend about this, where I think people (not just you, @YourWinter ) are nit-picking Megan's statement, is the reference to 'protect the children' at a point when she didn't have children. Surely that means children in general? It seems pretty obvious to me that it does.
