Not to mention the major cover-ups about FDR & Kennedy...

Or Johnson!

Thomas Markle has never been in the UK. He's not a UK national or resident.

The American authorities would be responsible for monitoring him and communicating with Mexico and the Philippines.

Many Americans retire in Mexico or go there for medical treatment since it's cheaper than the US. Lots of our medical employees immigrate to the US from the Philippines so I assume, perhaps incorrectly, that they have good health care that is cheaper than the US.

Cyber forensic teams in the US and the Philippines can analyze those computers.

Here in the US, people are innocent until proven guilty. I'd wait until the investigation is done and any trials are over.

Absolutely. The speculation is unpleasant especially as none of us have the actual facts which, going on the unreliability of MM and Harry’s claims, could be very different.

There is just no way she can spin this. She was fully aware her father was (allegedly) a peadophile yet positioned herself as an advocate for child safety? Did she do all she could to ensure he was fully investigated? As long as her own children were ok? How many others were abused because she, who was fully aware, chose to do nothing except deflect by throwing her in laws under the bus at every opportunity

Steady on - he's innocent until proven guilty.

All we have so far is Thomas Markle Jnr's word that he's guilty (a guy who is a liar and known to attack his family members with fabricated stories) and a possible investigation into him in 2018, which seemingly went nowhere.

Samantha Markle says it's all lies and is standing by her father.

AtIusvue · 23/10/2026 15:19

Even if she couldn’t say anything (highly doubtful ) she didn’t have to cover up with the tabloid collusion story for 8 years, have Harry repent for being responsible for the loss of her father etc on national television.

I've been just assuming that the letter the Met people showed her came from an official source - as in, a police authority in the USA or Mexico. I can't see the Met people taking the future DIL of the HoS aside to show her a letter they received from an individual alleging her dad was a bad 'un.

And if the letter was just from an individual, and your daddy was such a luvvely chappie - as she was asserting right up until she snagged a prince - any normal person would have told them either to stuff their letter and/or to come back when there's some hard evidence.

I highly doubt such a 'letter' exists. If there was some communication between the different law enforcement agencies, I very much doubt it would have been shown to Meghan. She may have been informed of the allegations, but they would not have shown an official communication to someone who did not have security clearance.

This is the problem with Meghan. Even if her basic story is true, she always overeggs the pudding! And she has a strange obsession with 'letters'!

It's rhetorical point as you well know - he is always cited as the dream candidate- obviously when he was younger. Personally I would consider Sir John Major a great candidate.

Perhaps Edwina could be Queen. Maybe the Royal Cipher could include a big blue pair of underpants

I think probably a good time for a reality check. The type of people you may see as being a good fit for the job will not be the type of people that will be attracted to the job.

That is absolutely the issue - those who seek power are the least fit to wield it.

It's why our system works, and if it ain't broke, why spend 10 years and billions (like Brexit) changing it? Oh, and there are other, more pressing concerns in the world today, I think you'll find.

Yes I'm sure there’s a universe maybe believed by some here that MM is evil and would stop at nothing to advance her twisted social climbing cause - on the hate fest that is Reddit St Meghan Markle they are slightly confused as what line to take.

Well at a mere 83 John Major is a spring chicken compared to Sir David. Just the sort of age to gird ones loins and head up a revolution.

A good time to remind people that all of this flows from having a family at the heart of our unwritten constitution. None of this would have happened under President David Attenborough. We could have had a head of state who commands respect through a lifetime of public service, rather than enduring endless scandal, squabbling and royal tittle-tattle.

That silly old fool.

BBC claiming there’s a reason why she never said anything at the time.

Shes claiming she couldn’t say anything because if legal action!!!!!

She didn’t have to accuse her father of anything. She should have said she received a letter, that contained concerning information about her father, and at this point will no longer have contact with him. That she can’t speak further on this issue, as it’s a legal matter and under investigation.

She knows how bad it looks that she never said anything for 8 years!!!!

‘Sources close to the Sussexes said Meghan could not speak publicly about the allegations when she first learned of them, in order to avoid jeopardising any future investigation.
Speaking out could have resulted in legal action against her, the sources said.’

Edited

But she accused the royal family of racism , was she not afraid of legal action there?
Again this is not adding up..

I know. I said allegedly. It's almost unfathomable that a son would stitch his father up like this 😓

She didn't have to say anything at all.

She does not owe the public information on her relationships, or lack thereof, with family members. Has William ever spoken publicly on his falling out with Harry? But Meghan's perennial problem is that she can never ever resist putting her version of events out there. That's a huge part of the mess she and Harry have made of their lives these past 7 years.

@BemusedAmerican health care in the Phillipines is dire for the majority, people die because they can’t get treatment in government hospitals and they’re too poor to go privately. There’s an also an inbetween which is charitable hospitals but even then it can take a whole family to chip in to pay a loved one’s bill.

I spent time in the Phillipines with one of our housekeepers leading up to her death from breast cancer. We’d treated her here but her cancer unfortunately came back. At first she decided she’d stay with us to the end as she had next to no family but an old school friend (gold digger) persuaded her to go home and be looked after by the family. We knew it had disaster written all over it but there was nothing we could do. Anyway six weeks in I flew to the Phillipines and moved into a house with her, the couple of months that followed were horrendous. Even the best medical care I could get her was very poor but I will say people did their best for her. By the time she died I had found some distant relatives of hers thanks to a policeman who used to escort me to get her heavy duty painkillers from the pharmacy, his family took us under their wing and when she died a few distant cousins were at her bedside. I’ll never forget what I saw in the time I was there.

Currently I have someone at home whose mum has stage 3 bowel cancer. It took weeks for her to be seen by an oncologist as every time the family took her to hospital to line up and wait for the oncologist he didn’t show up for work. That happened repeatedly. He just didn’t show up and they’d be told come back in two days, so they’d go back and he still hadn’t come to work. Eventually we moved her off her Island to Manilla and the circus started again, it took 5 weeks of the family going from hospital to hospital to get an oncologist and she’s now received the care she needs in a charity hospital that will reduce their bill by using charitable contributions. Quite frankly the bill is still very big even after being reduced by 75% and I would say that this charity hospital is better than anything else they attended over the last 3 months.

Just to add there is a payment people make to what is called Phill Health and even overseas workers have to contribute to this whilst outside the country.

It’s very hard living in the Phillipines.

PetulaGordeno · 23/10/2026 15:24

It looks like TM Junior has just Markled his father.
What an absolute shitshow of a mess.
I wouldn’t trust much that comes out of the son’s mouth he’s always been a rotter.
I feel a bit sorry for Samantha as she’s the one stuck looking after daddy now and she’s not well herself.
I can’t stand the father he’s always given me the creeps.
What I would like is for the Metropolitan Police to confirm what MM has said today as considering Harry was slagging off our legal system recently, it would be good to know some thruths.
If it’s true and MM is was made aware of it, then that’s awful and I feel for her.
However if she uses it any way for financial gain, it won’t bode well.
The York girls have stayed silent about their own father and I’m not a huge fan of either of them.
What seems to me is that these abusers are everywhere, in every walk of life, using up children and vulnerable young people like cheap pieces of rubbish.
MM’s statement today was mostly about… her. But really, you have to really think about the poor children involved in these images.
I think it demonstrates that these perps can act via privilege like AMW, or just because they have access to these images.
They heap shame upon their own families and cause untold damage.
And if the late Queen was told about Markle Senior and these allegations, she’s then juggling that with covering up the cesspit that is Andrew’s criminal behaviours.
The best thing MM could do for a while is say nothing.

I actually saw him speak a few years back at a festival - he got a standing ovation at the end - a decent honest intelligent leader that we never realised we needed until we lost him.
