The royal family

H&M are currently doing a ‘Royal’ walkabout thing in Nottingham.

A crowd has turned out to see them. It’s currently being covered live on Sky News. Why on earth would anyone do this?

They aren’t working royals. They are just a pair of chancers who have scuttled back to Britain with their tails between their legs because they have died on their arses in the US. And now people are tugging their forelocks to them here.

People really are absolute fucking morons.

Why is it different to turing up for any of the other “Royals”?

Moros · 15/10/2026 11:08

Some people are obsessed with them, whether it's going to see them do a walkabout or posting hundreds of messages on a message board about how much they suck. Pretty weird behaviour either way.

Because they aren’t working royals! They had their titles taken away as they aren’t doing any of the things and responsibilities that come with the title! They are just doing this for their own marketing purposes!

Human beings are a pretty weird lot. You need to take that into consideration.

fando · 15/10/2026 11:11

I think it’s weird to come out & wave at any Royal tbh, don’t understand celeb worship either.

fando · 15/10/2026 11:13

@Nearly50omg but do you think whether they are “working” or not makes a difference to the people waiting for them? And are you saying you understand why people wait & wave for working Royald?

WildlyInappropriate · 15/10/2026 11:15

If you’re interested in the royal family why does it make a difference if they’re working royals or not? They’re still part of the family. I was once mildly amused to find myself Christmas shopping alongside Princess Anne, but it never occurred to me to think about that interaction in light of how many public engagements she does. Do the people who go to celeb-watch at film premieres not go if they think the stars don’t work enough? It’s the celebrity that’s the draw, surely? Lots of people just like gawping at famous folk.

fando · 15/10/2026 11:18

@WildlyInappropriateI would say so but maybe some do only go once enough ribbons have been cut!

Do they still cut ribbons? Do you know, I haven't seen that for years.

Yeah I think people want to go and have a look because they're quite a controversial couple. Anyway, I'm glad they feel that the UK is safe enough for them. I thought Harry said it wasn't?

fando · 15/10/2026 11:22

no flipping idea!

ParsonMaybold · 15/10/2026 11:23

I think anyone that turns up to gawp and wave at any of the royals is a weirdo. What’s the difference if it’s Harry and Meghan?

fando · 15/10/2026 11:23

Very weird but you know it’s coming 😂

MadeInGrimsby · 15/10/2026 11:24

It obviously didn't work out in California, I don't know why, but anyway they're giving the old Royal engagements in the UK another go. Albeit unofficially!

Well, good luck to them. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mossyfox · 15/10/2026 11:46

So much for the UK is too dangerous for Harry's wife and kids and being stressed out by photographers. This will have set his demand for security back a bit.

Finding yourself in a shop with a royal is not the same as a royal turning out to do a 'walkabout', with barriers and TV cameras in place, though.

LowlandLucky · 15/10/2026 11:55

Semmingly there were less than 50 people there to welcome them and they had to be herded together so the Press could get the crowd shot.

SilenceInside · 15/10/2026 11:56

As private citizens with a public profile (which exists whatever they do), they can do whatever they like in terms of "public" appearances. If people turn out to see them then that's up to each person to decide what they want to do. Just like people turn up at public outings by other celebrities and stand behind barriers to look and ask for autographs. Celebrities are also fawned over by their fans.

They aren't claiming to be representing the UK Royal family, and they aren't paid working royals. I doubt anyone will be bowing, curtsying or tugging forelocks at them.

How embarrassing Grin

Pansykavalier · 15/10/2026 12:01

Sooooo…….. what kind of security did they have for this non-royal walkabout - to protect them from the ‘crowd’…

Lomonald · 15/10/2026 12:08

I just think it is weird, why were they in Nottingham who invited paid .them it is just so strange, maybe the crowd was at a bit of a loose end on a Thursday so were curious as to why ? Harry doesn't know how to live as a regular person and it is quite sad that he is grasping at his "old life" he could live a productive private life but choses to just live like this.

Indeed! That's almost 50,000 posts, incredible!
I wouldn't dream of hanging around and gawping at any royal, I wish they'd all disappear. I look at the odd pic here and there and that's it
If I've got the right pic of H&M and M was wearing maroon, I thought she looked nice in it.

Seemingly?

Surely the press would do a long shot? I mean, these two are always featured by the press because they are unpopular. So why then why would they make people bunch up to fake a picture? That would be a conspiracy (as in they, the press, would have to all agree) and it would directly contradict their own narrative?
