The royal family

H&M are currently doing a ‘Royal’ walkabout thing in Nottingham.

A crowd has turned out to see them. It’s currently being covered live on Sky News. Why on earth would anyone do this?

They aren’t working royals. They are just a pair of chancers who have scuttled back to Britain with their tails between their legs because they have died on their arses in the US. And now people are tugging their forelocks to them here.

People really are absolute fucking morons.

Semmingly there were less than 50 people there to welcome them and they had to be herded together so the Press could get the crowd shot.

Mwa ha ha ha! Wish they’d go back to Montecito and stay there.

Frankenspencer · 15/10/2026 15:49

None of them work. They’re parasites

GloriousGoosebumps · 15/10/2026 16:00

I haven’t seen the Sky coverage but Tom Sykes The Royalist on YouTube was there and broadcasting. The turnout was low and at one point the photographers outnumbered the public. However, I did enjoy the tiny children who were there. But why were they there? They were definitely too young to understand what was going on, however, they looked really cute and left early!

What did Justine call them again?

The Sussex Squad? She said the threads they were on were ‘unhinged’.

I have no interest in them or the other ones but I will say I live round the corner from where William and Kate visited in Belfast last week. Happened to be going for a coffee when I wondered why all the police barriacades. They had it set up for hoards but in the actual moment, there were only about 30 or so people hanging about and less than that seemed interested in actually meeting them. Mind you, we have our own history with the royal family so not indicative of much but I did notice the pictures afterwards were definitely made to seem as though there was a bigger crowd than there actually was. No idea if that was the same with this walkabout or maybe even all walkabouts.

What did Justine call them again?

Justine, MN's founder, accurately described those people that consistently swarm to her site to criticise the Duke & Duchess of Sussex (particularly the Duchess) as 'DERANGED'. Her words 😅

MadeInGrimsby · 15/10/2026 16:11

Ok. There have been lots of deletions on here. Would this be a time for name calling and personal attacks to stop?.

That wasn’t advertised though, no one knew they would be there. Today has been known about for 2 weeks. It’s not comparable.

Because they aren’t working royals! They had their titles taken away as they aren’t doing any of the things and responsibilities that come with the title! They are just doing this for their own marketing purposes!

when did they have their titles taken away?
did I miss that.

I don’t believe Justine specified the fans she referred to.

And thank heavens they did.

If they had not, they may have got a crowd of 5.

Yes, from speaking to people since, it was absolutely known they would be here.

She wasn’t that explicit. She called this forum unhinged. Why do you think she didn’t mean absolutely everyone who posts here?

Oh, I know you’ll be thinking “me? Not me! She couldn’t have meant me!”

dippy567 · 15/10/2026 16:41

Because they're famous! For someone who doesn't get it, yet cares so much to bother posting and starting z new thread on mumsnet seems to indicate that you do actually care a teeny tiny bit?

If they'd rocked up near you, wouldn't you have gone to see them, just so you could post how awful they are?

#bekind (but #also slag off publicly people i dont like)

Thank you for your clam, reasonable voice here.

I think it’s meant to detract from the topic of the day.

Calm!! Not clam!

BemusedAmerican · 15/10/2026 16:44

No, I don't like crowds or metal barricades. I was protesting one of our many US wars and got stuck behind barricades while mounted NYPD broke up the protest. The stress is not worth it for me.

Lifeomars · 15/10/2026 16:45

I find it equally strange that random people post online hate about them. In my opinion both behaviours are immature and odd. This country or certain elements of it need to grow up and stop obsessing about people who happen to be public figures by reason of birth or marriage. Both sides of the debate sound like teenagers arguing about pop stars and at least a pop star sings a tune or two.

I once got stuck in an NYC Halloween parade crush against barricades. While the police watched. It must have been 2000 and if I recall, Giuliani was not a fan of the parade. It was terrifying and unnecessary and felt intentional.

I think anyone that turns up to gawp and wave at any of the royals is a weirdo. What’s the difference if it’s Harry and Meghan?

The difference is that some of the ‘weirdos’ that turned up today thought that Harry should be the next king.

They have not quite grasped the reality of the situation but I still wouldn’t call them weirdos.

@AnAutumnCrow are the Sussex squad pro or anti?
